It has now been 5 months since I first posted, thank you all for your comments.

I now have a healthy 3 month old daughter who was born at 35 weeks, we defied the odds and didn't listen to the doctors- a mothers instinct is always right! I have had pprom twice now at 22 and 28 weeks both my babies have been kept in for 2 weeks in neonatal born at 34 and 35 weeks, miracles do happen.

I'm so sorry to those who has been less fortunate but to those who are currently in this situation, believe and hold on because everything can work out.

I was told at 22 weeks my daughter had no chance and to deliver, I signed myself off work for 2 weeks and didn't move and laid with one of those triangular pillows under my bum so my pelvis was elevated, I had help from family with my daughter and my partner cooked, in my head I just needed to get to 24 weeks so at least they would help my baby if she was to be born. At the next scan I had a tiny bit more water so they let me carry on, each scan I had between 1-3cm I was lucky with both babies they had a pocket of water near their heads so their lungs were not affected. They are my little miracles, it was a horrendous time both times but I am very fortunate they are ok. Unfortunately they have no idea why this happens to me.

I hope my story helps someone and I'm always here if u need any advice. Good luck x

My water broke at 24 weeks 0days I didn't know my water had broke. I had spotting at 23 weeks from a small blood clot that got out of my system then. A week later I had an increase of fluid which wasn't much. I went to my doctor and was sent.to a hospital to find I was leaking fluid. So I got a lot of IV steroids and shot. I was transferred to a different hospital because there was something wrong with my kid. Doctors think. My son has situs invertus - his organs in his torso are switched around like a mirror image. I been in the hospital for 4 weeks now making me 28 weeks. 0 days now. I am on bedrest in the hospital and.just waiting for one of three things. 1. He stays in for 34 weeks 2.I get an infection. 3. Or he just comes out. So we are playing the waiting game

I had a smallish leak at 20w with my second daughter and they admitted me to hossy and told me she most likely wouldn't make it and that I had to make it at least til 24w. They sent me home after a week and no more positive amino swabs. I also has a partial placental abruption so I had a lot of bleeding. At 27 weeks I had a huge gush of fluid and was transferred to a big maternity hospital which I spent 5 weeks on bed rest and then delivered after the placenta fully came away. She was a chubba at 4lb4oz My daughter has a lot of health problems but I'm so thankful for every day longer I went.

Laura, everyone doesn't know there water has broken. Sometimes it merely leaks. You should go to the hospital. Trust your gut. Usually, your gut knows more than the doctors.

Sarah, you have to be strong. Everyone's situation is different. You have to stay calm and stress-free for the sake of your baby. Your baby does have a chance of survival because she is still in there.

Be strong sweetheart, Khannia

Ashley, I am truly sorry to hear about your lost. I was wondering if you were checked for IC? If not, the next time you try, you should ask doctors to check you for it. Sometimes they won't do things, you have to request them. Good luck!

I was pregnant with twin girls. My pregnancy had zero complications other than trying to get pregnant! 19w5d randomly my water broke. I was clueless what was about to transpire. 2 days after my water broke I went in to labor and delivered my first daughter. 2 days after that they said I had a high fever which indicated an infection. They induced me and I delivered my second daughter at 20w5d. Neither survived :( no answers makes it that much harder. Good luck!

Becky, I've read in many places that elevating your lower abdomen so baby is up off the cevix helps and it is what some hospitals do to patients. I know that when I was hospital ized for pprom at 24wks I couldnt keep the waters in if I sat up or put my pelvis down. I kept it elevated in the hospital for 2 months and he is now a strong healthy 11yr old. Get shots at 24 weeks if you are still doing ok. I know it has ben a while since you posted

[deleted account]

I broke at 24 wks and delivered at 32w4d. Strong boy with some crainial compression. He is now 11yrs and very healthy

Hi,my waters broke at 23 weeks.I still can't believe it now but my little girl is 10 months old now.I managed to hold on till 37 weeks, then I was induced.i had over 50 trips to the hospital for fluid, growth and heartbeat checks every couple of days.i had as much bed rest as possible (as much as I could with a 4 yr old).i took lots of advice from the hospital ie no baths or anything that could cause infection (I went bit extreme as every morning/afternoon clean towel for showering).Every day was a goal and amazingly I kept holding on,I went into hospital quite a few times as I had blood tests every few days and my infection levels up and down. She is my miracle baby x

Becky, my water broke at 16 weeks and I carried her an additional 10 weeks. The doctors treated me the same way. My baby passed 3 days after she was born. However, you have an advantage because your water broke later. Don't stress and stay calm. Everything will happen the way it needs to happen. Did the doctor tell you why your water broke so early with both pregnancies?

I need some advice please...
I had my daughter jasmine at 34 weeks, my waters broke at 28 weeks. She was kept in neonatal for 2weeks but she was fine just had to be tube fed, on a heat mat and had a little bit of jaundice- she weighed 4lb 11oz n is now a healthy 19 month old.
I am 23 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 and am now going through this all again, just much earlier- my waters went at 22 weeks :-( I'm devastated, I can't believe this is happening.
Has anyone else been through this at this gestation? My lowest level of liquor is 1.7cm n my deepest is 2.7cm. Docs aren't saying anything positive just saying they don't even know if I'll get to 24 weeks n they don't wanna think about it, each day is a massive gift. They've not advised bed rest or for me to do anything different just that they won't intervene until baby is 24 weeks. They have said the outcome is very low this time and it won't be a good story like my daughter if baby does survive as the waters have gone too early this time :-(
I don't know what to do, I just need someone to talk to, someone who my have been through this, I hate the waiting and the not knowing and the bad news from the docs. Has anyone got any advice? Thank you. Becky x

My water broke with a gush (and kept gushing!) while I was sleeping at 3:00 am.

After a hospital transfer, a shot of steroids and IV antibiotics, a biophysical profile score of 0/8 and fetal distress, my son was born by emergency c section at 10:45 am. So, 7 hrs 45 min.

That said, a woman who was admitted the same day as me was able to hold on for another 6 weeks.

When mine broke with my daughter labor started immediately (31 weeks), Doctor`s tried to slow it down, but I delivered her within 20 hours of my water breaking, and it was around 6 hours of labor. With my son (33 weeks) my water broke and he was born within 4 hours, fast! I was on bedrest prior to having both my kids and did not have leaking membranes, they just seem to break and labor starts immediately after. Now my kids are happy and healthy 7 and 2 year olds and they still are in a rush to do everything :)

My water also broke at 23 weeks and I was on bed rest in the Hospital for almost 4 weeks and then my cord prolapsed so I had an emergency c-section at 27 weeks gestation. My daughter was in the NICU for 80 days and now is a thriving 19 month old that is almsot completely caught up to her adjusted age.
When my water broke so early I didn't realize there was anything that could be done. I am so amazed at the miracles that they can do now...
