My son was 13 weeks early. He is now 5 months, 2 months corrected. He had an appointment with his pediatrician the other day and she measure his head circumference and said he has a small head. She actually measured it twice just to make sure. When we sat down to talk she showed me it plotted on a graph it was below the lowest line. I think it is the fifth percentile. Shes concerned that his brain is not growing and scheduled an MRI. He hasnt had it done yet but I was wondering if anyone elses babies has this and if so can you tell me anything about it?? Im really worried.

My daughter was born at 28 weeks and every appt. they made it a big deal till she was about 3 they decided she is small all over and is developing just fine. She is 5 now and still only 34 pounds. Hang in there. **Hugs**

Aww sorry about your daughter, I hope she is doing better now. My son will be 2 in December now. His head stopped growing for a long time but recently it has gone up a cm or two. We found out that from the placenta abruption I had while pregnant with him caused the brain bleed and they think that he might have had a little stroke when that happened. We also foud out that there is a little piece of his brain that is dead and that he has cerebral palsy. We were told about the CP a few days after he was born but they couldn't confirm it until he turned 1. He goes to see a neurologist this thursday and I am hoping that he can answer all the questions that I have.

my daughter was born on her due date. at three weeks old she contracted menegitius. it was massivly aggressive n we nearly lost her twice. she has pulled through and is now 4 months old, she is happy n healthy and is a good weight but her head is only 37.5 cm. im worried also but i think its down to growth overall not how much how quick, as long as there is growth then i think its ok but i understand ur distress. i think i cry everyday about it but if ur little one is doing well and acting as normal then take heart, there probably isnt anything to worry bout. xxx

Thanks it does help. I forgot to mention that he also has a grade 4 IVH (brain bleed) so maybe that has something to do with it

My son was born at 26 weeks and is now 15 months old, i don't no if this will help you but his head is small as well and is on the the 2nd centile for his corrected age (which is the 2 nd line up) but for his real age is below the last line, and he is fine walking and talking and is extremly faster at learning than his half brother who was born 6 days late. Hope this helps.
