My son was 35 weeks. I was terrified. I did not know my water had broked because i felt no pains. When i gave birth to him, he was fine but couple minutes later he had to be rushed to the NICU because of breathing complications. he stayed in the hospital for 29 days. the hardest days of my entire life. It was really hard, but God kept him thru and he made it. I love him with all my heart. Wudnt trade him for the world. I just want him to know what I went thru with him, even whilest pregnant. Nausea St8 thru. not a gud feeling but it was all worth it. I am thankful

My daughter was born at 33 weeks...my kids are 13 months apart. She was 4.13 at birth. She is now 29 and expecting her first baby in Sept - around the time when I turn 60. Yeah, I'm an old nana.

She turned out great!

I was born in 1985 you know how much we didn't know ultra sounds were just becoming standard. We didn't know till later somewhere between weel 34 and week 35 according to calculations. I was born 6lbs but i was slinky 21 inches. Yeah for 3 yrs i was joke in that hospital. I seemed relatively ok so was sent home. Back then treatment for jaundice was estiantly stick the kid in a window of sun i did devolop that with in first week of life. I never ate well as baby. I eat ok now only so so as child. Just remember till age 5 child will get sick a bit easier then other children. I got very sick from a trial vaccine at age 3 that i really shouldn't have been in trail i had been 3 only a week had we known before hand i was premie we would have known i was more like 2 yr old. Also all premies are more likely to have bronchitis or asthma in life sometimes both. That risk is always their. Also premies are more likely then term babies to devolp food allergies. Watch preschooler they may become food hider cuase their full split meals in half feed them little more often about half portion of typical feeding if food hider. I met most of mile stones early i skipped crawling but im a just me that's atypical of premie but not unheard of. I am healthy other then disablities at age 28 the preterm birth is not cause of them.

I had my baby at 35 weeks exactly. She was 5pounds 1oz and was ok, but had to stay in the NICU for 10 days because she lost weight right off the bat and it took a while to gain. She was 4 pounds 14oz when we took her home. Had to buy a new car seat that was legal for babies under 5lbs! She's done pretty good, she's 20 months now, but she still only weighs about 20 lbs and is in 12 month clothes. She was much more succeptible to illnesses over the first year. She had and still has acid reflux and she's always got the sniffles because of that. She had Whooping Cough and RSV at the same time at 5 months and ended up in Childrens Hospital, but since that it's just been your every day run of the mill colds and ear infections. How is your little one doing now?

She was in the nicu for eight days and she had a clean bill of health.. She did have refulx, but no other problems... She is now 18 months old and is in the 10th percentile for height and weight.

My son was born at 35 weeks, due to me developing HELLP syndrome and the doctor being forced to take Wes. He stayed in the NICU for 4 days, but two of those were because I was so sick, he could have been released before me!!! He's doing really well now, meeting most of his milestones (and the one's he's not meeting aren't worrying me at all!)

Congrats on your little one!

Hi there, my waters broke at 35 weeks and Morwenna was born weighing 4lbs 71/2 ozs.. She was in Neonatel just over night (born at 01.12am) and had nothing else wrong with her. We stayed in hospital though for another 10 days to make sure she was feeding ok. Her weight dropped down to 4lbs 3ozs and she had a feeding tube to help for about 5 days. Now nearly 1 year old and weighing approx 17lbs she is eating well and almost standing whilst holding onto things.

I made it to 33 weeks 6 days with my b/g twins, born six weeks early. My son was born at four pounds 10 ounces and my daughter was born at three pounds twelve ounces. Besides jaundice my son was born with underdeveloped lungs, and in addition to the steriod shot he was on a ventilator for four hours. He came home eight days later, at a discharge weight of 4 pounds 8 ounces. My daughter had weight gain issues and came home four days after her brother weighing four pounds 1 ounce.

Now at almost 16 months ( 14 and a half adjusted) my son weighs 24.8 pounds and my daughter is 23 pounds 1 ounce. My son is almost walking now, and my daughter is just now pulling herself up on things.

Yes i did, i went into the clinic at hospital for a check up at 34 weeks and had high blood pressure which they later diagnosed as pre eclmpsia, i was kept in over night and had an emergency caesarian the following day. Taylor was born at 4Ib 7oz n dropped down to 3Ib 9oz, he spent a week in the special baby care unit in an incubator but improved really well and could come home after just two weeks! He is now 6months old and is doing fine!

I did. My daughter was born at 34 weeks 6 days as well. I started with random contractions at 27 weeks and at 33 weeks, she dropped and the contractions picked up. They were able to stop labor for a week and a half until she decided she was coming no matter what. Kayleigh topped the scale at 6lbs 9 oz which shocked everyone. However her lungs were very underdeveloped so she had to spend some time in the NICU. The general feeling was that I has gestational diabetes that went undiagnosed. I had the test and it wasn't even borderline, but Kayleigh had all the hallmarks of gestational diabetes. She's 10 months now and doing great! She has some motor delays, both fine and gross, but in everything else is at or exceeding her actual age.
