i was 17 when my first was born. he was born at 32 weeks. it is very hard and scary, but you can do this. accept any help that anyone offers. i dont know what kind of support system you have but i still lived with my mom, and she helped alot! well, she more guided me through it all, and she was always there when i needed her. my son came home on an apnea monitor and apria healthcare came out once a week, plus a nurse came twice a week. and i was still in school, and we had a parenting class for girls who had kids or were pregnant and the fathers. so one of the teachers would come every week to bring my work and she would help in differant ways. one of them brought me 3 trash bags full of stuff from diapers, wipes, bottles, blankets, clothes, even a breast pump. get as much rest as possible. play with him alot, and try to teach him as much as possible because they say preemie's are usually behind full term babies. it didn't take mine long to catch up. he will let you know when he is hungry and when he is full. if you feel like he is not getting enough, take him to the doctor and tell them your concerns, they will help you. congratulations on your new baby and good luck!

I had my son at 33 weeks, I was lucky as the baby nurses got him into a routine as he was in special care for 2 weeks. I agree with Amy, take any advice as constructive and not critisism, sleep when he sleeps but I wouldn't feed him when he wants as it'll be hard to get him into a regular feeding pattern, I'd say evey 3 hrs but what works best for u do. Enjoy ur little one.

Congrats, on becoming a mommy... I had my daughter at 34 weeks preme babies have their challenges and if you have any questions or concerns call your pediatrician, talk to your mom or any one that you have in your support group. deff sleep when your baby sleeps and if your still having a hard time breast feeding call your local LaLeecha group or call the hospital and talk to a lactation cunsultant... dont be afraid to ask for help and if anyone gives you a hard time let them know my babys # 1 i rather be safe then sorry!

Accept any help that is offered to you. Sleep when he sleeps! Feed him as often as he wants in the beginning. I had a 27 week preemie and she was very hard to keep on a routine. Preemies have a harder time regulating themselves for a while.
