My son was born at 38 weeks. He is 4 1/2 months old now. I forget sometimes that he is a preemie because he does not look like one. He was born 6 weeks early weighing 6 lb. 5oz. The doctors thought i had my due date wrong, they couldn't believe that he was 6 weeks early until they checked lung development and realized he wasn't fully developed.

My 5 year old daughter was full term and developed very quickly. She was early in doing everything from walking to talking, even potty training. My question is i was wondering with everyone with babies that were early what is your baby doing? My son is 4 1/2 months and is just starting to hold his head up. He still just lays around and sleeps, which i am not complaining. Its just my daughter was starting to sit up by now and he is not even close to that. So when did you son/daughter start to hold its head up.....sit up....talk....walk...etc?

My son was born at 26 weeks and started crawling at 9 months old and then walking 2 weeks after his first birthday. He can build a 3 brick tower and can say over 30 words, at first i was convinced he would be slow but he proved me wrong!

My twins were six weeks early as well, born at 33 weeks 6 days. My daughter was born at three pounds twelve ounces and my son was born at four pounds ten ounces. Now at almost 11 months ( 9 and a half adjusted) My son is crawling, but my daughter isn't quite there yet. She likes to observe more than he does.
