Does "wow she's so tiny" bother anyone? She's now 2 and still getting that.

I am a mom of a preemie, my daugter was 2lbs 5oz when she was born. she is now 2 years old and she is now 21lbs 6oz and 31 inches tall. she's still my peanut. I wasn't ever bothered when she was younger all the she's son tiny comments because it comes with the territory of a preemie, but now thats she's older and walking and talking I get these comments like wow she's so small or she so tiny. I don't hate that shes small, I doesn't bother me at all, she's perfect to me plus she's easy to tote around lol. I know they don't mean to insult me and thats not what there doing when they call her tiny but Its startng to get to me. has anyone else ever felt like this. I hope its not just me.

YES! It is so annoying sometimes. I have even had rude people go as far as saying that I should feed her more! If they only knew, I feed her around the clock, but she hardly puts on weight. She started walking really early (6.5 months) & is so active that she burns off calories so quickly that her weight just won't go up. The Dr. isn't concerned (she is in the 5th percentile) so neither am I. I know that she is happy & healthy. People just need to mind their own business sometimes.

Well, yeh! I got a this lady fired from the grocery store for commenting on my baby's prematurity during Christmas time. I was tired of her commenting everytime I had to go by more diapers and formula. I just wanted to enjoy the holiday with my baby. Now her comments were meant to be mean.

Maybe these strangers are just stunned to see a child, and how tiny she is in comparison to an adult. Who knows.

Either way it may be good to explain to your family and close friends that it bothers you. Now they will say something dumb. But hopefully they can refrain from it so if gives you a chance to heal from the emotions you have tied to that phrase.

Now I think 31 inches is pretty good for a two year old girl.

Yes, it bothers me. I have two boys and they are three. Just recently they've hit a growth spurt and people haven't been saying it as much anymore. I had one lady who's shorter than me and her husband is around my height state,"Oh, I'm so surprised that they are so short because you and your husband are tall." Then she said, "you guys can have our clothes." I know that she didn't mean any harm but I was offended....so I know how you feel.
