I too had HELLP syndrome.  Delivered at 24 weeks due to it.  Jack was born weighing 15 ounces and was in the NIcu for 135 days!!!  I have been contemplating baby # 2 for quite some time. Jack is now 3!

I did too. Katherine was born at 33 weeks. My first one, Elizabeth, was born at 29 weeks, and although I wasn't diagnosed with anything, my present doctor thinks that this could have occurred then also. Danielle, I agree with you! We wanted a third but not after two NICU stays.

I was diagnosed with severe HELLP syndrome at 23 weeks gestation on December 8, 2003. My daughter died during delivery on December 10 and I went into kidney failure. It took a very long time for my physical health to return. And even longer for my mental health to return. I have since had 2 beautiful children. I did have complications during the last month of my pregnancies. I do not want to try again for fear of more complications.

I've had 2 prems born early due to HELLPS. My son in 2002 @ 30weeks weighing 1430g and my daughter in 2007 @ 26 weeks weighing 669g. I certainly aint going back for #3.

I did in June 2007. There is a group on Facebook called "I Was Diagnosed With H.E.L.L.P. Syndrome"
