my little boy is now 4 months old, he was born premature by 7 weeks, and spent nearly a month in the hospital. He was great when I brought him home, but within the last few weeks he has been crying and screaming bloody murder every night. I have tried everything I can think of from giving him a warm bottle or a bath or going for a car ride. I have tried holding him and giving him his pascifier (which only makes matters worse) I have tried his bouncer and his swing and laying him in his crib or playing with him on the floor but nothing seems to work. The weird thing is that it only happens at night but its wailing and screaming like someone is hurting him. I dont know what else to try. any suggestions????

I agree about prevacid; also have you changed what you are feeding him? That happened to our son and out of the blue one night he just screamed bloody murder until he finally let out his gas and feel asleep. We then remembered that we just switched formula and came to the conclusion that the change in formula is what caused it! Good luck!

My DD had symptoms like that. It was reflux. Zantac helped her enormously!

You can try something called gripe water. It is for babies with colic and they sell it over the counter at pharmacies. You could also try gas drops for infants. I used them all the time when my son was a baby.

I would definitely ask about Prevacid my son is on it and it's made a big difference. I would also suggest that you have a colicky baby on your hands, but I'm sure you've heard that. You're doing all the right things and the good news is that this won't last. Try having a lot of support around like Grandma, Daddy, or anyone else who wants to hold a screaming baby for a little while so you can get a break. Also, keep trying and I'll bet you'll find one thing that will work at least for a little while. The bad part is that if it is colic, the one thing you find won't last forever you just have to keep searching until this is over. I feel your pain with this. Good Luck

My four month old has bad reflux and did the same thing. Ask your pediatrician about Prevacid.
