my dd was born at 24 weeks and 2 days, got trach at her 3 months birthday, got gtube after 2 weeks from trach procedure, went into 4 different Nicu's in 5.5 months, then got moved into Picu in a children memorial hospital in chicago, thats where she got the right tratment and started improving and finally came home when she was 7 months old. its been 1.5 months since she is hme now and doing great.

i would recomend you to take ur baby to the children's hospital where they are specialize in childrens only, other hospital dr's are not as good as the children's hospital. hope u get to go home soon. take care

Had my little girl at 34 wks even. Born at 4 lbs. 15 oz. They took her by emergency c-sections due to severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. We went home 9 days later and 4 lbs. 9 oz. She is a little over 1 year old now and you wouldn't know she was preemie!

I had my daughter at 32 weeks gestation, weighing 2lbs 11oz, 14.9 inches long, She was doing great at first then developed NEC, she had air in the walls of her intestines she had to stop feeding for 10 days and had her on antibiotics, then feeds started up again on Christmas Eve, she was in the NICU for a month she came home weighing 4lbs 3.3oz. She has also had a blood transfusion, I believe that if she wouldnt have developed NEC she would have been home sooner, So just depending on how your child is the time depends. I seen a couple there their baby was born weighing 2lbs 5oz not much smaller than my child and they were leaving on there 84 day stay there. So it just depends :)

as of now my daughter is 4lbs10oz.. she is happy healthy and beautiful ♥

Jacobi arrived at 26 weeks.. I had a thanksgiving due date but my water broke and after days in the hospital and a couple rounds of steroids he was delivered via c-section weighing in at 2lbs 3oz and 14 in long. We unfortunately didn't have the amazing outcome as others. He suffered a brain hemorrhage after a blood transfusion which affected 85% of his brain, as well as suffering from retenal detachment from receiving oxygen to long while in nicu. He suffered from severe cp and could only see light and dark, wheelchair bound. Never held his own head up, crawled or talked. His only communication was crying. Sadly he passed away at 19 months due to complications from cp..God knew of the suffering he was going through and the struggles of me raising him as well as a three year old. Heaven needed another angel. He no longer had any pain or confusion, his suffering is over. I was blessed to have this child in my live. I knew the day would come when he would leave me, the doctors had given him a life expectancy of 1-3 years, it's hard every day. I applaud patents of preemies..they truly are special gifts. I never realized how precious life was until that little boy came into mine. He gave me a whole new outlook on life...live each day to it's fullest and always show and tell those special people in your life that you love them every day.. Because tomorrow is never promised.

My TRIPLETS were born at 34 weeks. First one (son) was 3 lbs and 12 oz, second (son) was 3 lbs and 10 oz, and the third (daughter) was 3lbs and 6oz. They all stayed one day in NICU but have an extended stay in SPECIAL CARE NURSERY, the boys after 6 weeks and the girl 6weeks and 4days, for feeding support and gain weight -4 lbs was the goal.
