My baby is still in the NICU.
I expect to have him home at the beginning of January, '10.
By then it will have been 4 months having my baby in the NICU..
But he is doing so good he may even get to come home sooner!

I had twins born at 29weeks- my daughter was in NICU for almost 2 months, she came home 2 days before she was 2 months old. I brought her home at 5lbs. My son stayed until mid April. He was 8lbs coming home. He had apnea, reflux issues and so he stayed in longer.

Our twins were born 35 weeks son weighing in at 4.3 and my girl weighing in at 4.4. He stayed in NICU for 9 days and she stayed in NICU for 14 days. They were shocked when boy came home before girl cuz usually it is the opposite. They are now 14 months old and doing great!! I hope everything is going well for you!! :)

My son was 6 weeks premature and born on February 14 2012. He was in the NICU for 3 weeks and 2 days. :) He was 3lbs 3oz at birth.

My son was born February 27,2006 his due date was May 31,2006 he wiighed 2lbs 6oz and was 14 inches long he came home April 27,2006. He is a very happy healthy 6 yr old but has a very bad immune system he catches every thing that goes around other than that he is doing great just remember time and patience and all the love u can give him right now and before u know it u will be bringing him home many prayers for u and ur family

Both my babies were born 9weeks early... the week before Christmas. My son was in the NICU 4weeks & my daughter was there 5weeks. My son is 2 and my daughter is 1.

My son was born at 24 weeks 1 lb 7oz he spent 16 months in the NICU. He was born April 22 2009 and came home August 24 2010. He has been home now 1 year and 4 months and he is doing great. He is behind and has some medical issues but is as happy as can be.

Just got my twins home in August, they were in the NICU for about 4 months. I hate A's and B's too! Everytime it seemed like they were ready boom one happened. ugh. they were born at 26 weeks one of them was 1 lb 11 oz and the other was 2 lbs 4 oz they are both 15 pounds now! It was truly a miracle and I was lucky that God let me keep both of them.

I stopped counting days when it got to be over 100 way past 200 and never counted in weeks. She was in there for 8 1/2 months and just left on Thursday.

My 30 weeker and us spent 44 days in the NICU. He was a fighter the whole way and such a trooper. He actually came home on christmas eve, god answered my prayer and that was all i wanted for christmas and i got it. He is a smart, healthy active 3 year old now and could not imagine things without him.

My son was born at 28 weeks he was born july 15th and released oct 6th.on my due date! Hes been bome for a month now.be patient because once they come home thats when you have to take extra care of them due to the fact there premature and get sick quicker then regular newborns.when there in there they take such good care of them.

58 looooooong days my daughter was in the NICU, I had the greatest nurses and they were nice enough to remember it wasn't just my daughter who needed help I needed help dealing with everything! ♥ my nurses. My daughter is now 3 and the only sign that she was a preemie is that she is a little under weight, and it takes her a little longer to get better when shes sick

My baby stayed in the NICU for 3 months then he went to the progressive unit for 1 month weighing, 1lb at birth, he weighed 4lbs when he came home from the hospital, now he is 14yrs old, doing GREAT haven't had any problems with his health and I GIVE ALL THANKS TO GOD.......

I had my oldest son at 32 weeks and that was in 1979. He stayed in for 8 weeks and he is fine. My youngest son was 6 weeks early due to complications and was born clinically dead. He is 15 yrs. old and has a variety of medical issues due to this, but overall is his fine.

my son was n NICU for 21days...he was born 4pds.4oz. went home 3pds.7oz. He was sent home on heart meds. He's now 4years old...35pds.and healthy.

Hi my premature baby is now 16 years old and 6ft 4 inches!! He was in hospital just short of 6 weeks. I found the hardest part was maintaining breastfeeding, especially when your baby is born before the sucking reflex develops. Amazingly though at around 4 months when I visited a maternal and child health clinic I was told I was "over feeding" him - because he was so big and had gained a lot of weight really fast - I had started a small amount of solids as the milk didn't seem to settle him (he never seemed full), this was recommended by my doctor and it worked fantastic. I'm not sure what was the 'miracle' in those early years of his development, as you would never tell that he was born 3 months early. I was very fussy about his food, offered everything and to this day have never offered my children caffeine drinks or high salt/fat/sugar diets, just lots of fruit veg meats dairy etc - who knows.

Any time having a baby in the NICU is tough, but I doubt there is a mother out there who didn't completely trust the wonderful nurses who cared for her baby! Both of my babies were in the NICU. My first daughter was born at 30 weeks. She was born on February 5th and came home March 1st. My second daughter was born at 32 weeks. She was born May 14th and came home May 30th. We were very fortunate!

My son was born at 32 weeks 4 days. Thanks to the wonderful ob-gyns I had, he was able to leave the NICU after only 2 weeks with no monitors. He is now almost 2 and has never been behind developmentally...be patient and things will be great.

My son Alex was in the NICU 9 1/2 months (291 days). He was a 27 weeker with severe IUGR and chronic lung disease/BPD. He has a tracheostomy, and came home on a ventilator, but we've just last weekend finally weaned him off completely.

Post a reply!my twins were 26 weekers, they did 9 weeks in intensive care and 9 weeks in special care and my boy came home on oxygen, i know it's tough but they're in the best place, hang in there! they'll be 2 in march and i love them with all my heart!

my son was in nicu from august till october when i first met his doctor she said he wouldnt be released any early then mid november but he should drastic improvement and he got to go home..i hated the drive because they halo flighted him to another town but i would rather my baby be there safe and gettin the right kind of care then home where there is no 24/7 doctor.good luck and get some sleep if this is your first baby.

My gorgeous twin girls were born on xmas eve 09 at 32 weeks they are still in special care at the momment and doing very well . They weighed 3lb 12oz and 3lb 2oz. The youngest twin has been a bit poorly these last few days with an infection but is alittle fighter and getting better the oldest twin is gaining weight and guzzling milk like no tomorrow !
We are hoping that they will be out by end of january i am praying anyway i am missing them so much

My daughter was born at 32 wks. December 11,2007. She weighed 4 pds and was 44 cm long. She came home January 2,2008. She had to weigh 5pds and drink from a bottle on her own before they let her leave. The staff was great, the nurses called themselves aunties. My daughter is now 2yrs and is doing great. She's a ball of energy. She weighs 23pds and is very tall for her age.

Hi Happy New Year. My Baby was due on Oct 29. She was born on Agust 22. 10 weeks early. She was perfect in every way but her heart and weght. she was 2lbs and 11ounces. 16 inches long. She want home at 4.9, The doctor said all she needed to do was to grow and that she could do that at home better thatn being at the Hospital. Her heart had a murmor. and they would do sergery later in lafe due it was not life treatinning. She had it done a age 5. now she is very normal and very active. Smart like you wouldn't believe. Still Small. She is 8 years now. 52 lbs and and 52 inches. I wish you the best. Always know that you can always count on me to at least to give yousome kind of moral support.
