my daughter was born at 24 weeks and weighed 1 lb. 10 oz, she was in the NICU for almost 4 months. When she came home she weighed 4 lbs.

wow she came home at 3lbs!!! My little girl came home after 3 months of being in NICU and she wieghted 5lbs. When she was born she weighed 2lbs. I think its amazing the amount of care the nurses give to all of the little kids that small. I don't know what it would be like without my little Angel.

I had premature twins weighing 1lb 12oz and 2lbs 3oz at birth. They were born at 27 weeks. Once my son who was 2lbs 3oz reached 5lbs he could go home...it took about 2.5 months. My other son had other complications and came home weighing 5lbs 2oz after being in the NICU for 4.5 months.

kole was born 9 weeks early but i was on steroids for 7 weeks so he developed faster and weighed in at 4lbs, 4 oz going down to 3lbs 15oz. came home after 4 wks weighing 5 lbs. he is now 14, plays hockey and is 160lbs, no problems,,,very blessed

Well under 5 lbs. She too only spent 10 days in the hospital. She weighed 3lbs. 15 oz at birth. She spent 4 days in a NICU and transfered to the hospital by us for another 6 days.

My son was born at 29 weeks and was 2lb 7oz at birth he came home at 6 and a half weeks and he was 3lb 12oz. He is now a very active 3 year old! My little girl was born 5 weeks early so not so bad and she was 5lb 12oz at birth she had a few problems keeping warm so she stayed in scbu for a while but was home at 3 days old and was then 6lb. She is now 19 months.

The NICU my twins were in would not allow us to take them home until the were over 5 lbs. and healthy. So they were both just a few ounces over 5 lbs.
