Hello this is my first post here, so here goes, I have had 2 prems my first was born on 29th march 89 and weighed only 860grms or 1pound 14 oz he was born at 27 weeks, was home on oxygen for nearly 2 years after more then 6months in hospital, has retina damage, hernia ops, whooping cough etc

My second was born 13th nov 91 and just got to 34 weeks weighing 4pound 1oz he has major heart surgery in Royal Melbourne's Childrens Hospital whooping cough rotavirus has trachio malaecia(narrowing of his windpipe) etc..It was really hard time with both babies but they are almost 21 and 18 now still get really sick at times but are good and we are truly blessed......

Jodie, congrats on making in through such hard times. I don't think I could do it all again ! The Royal Childrens hospital's across the country do such an amazing job ! They don't just treat the children they treat the whole family. They saved my daughters life recently and they were wonderful !!!



I'm glad to here your boys are both doing well now though !
