Hi sarah i would love to hear more about ur 23 weeker.... read my post i have a 23 weeker n im stressinh..doctors want her to have surgery for a gtube next month. she s turning 3 n only weights 20 pounds.. has mild cerebral palsy n developmental delays... doesnt walk :(

Hi i had identical twin girls at 23 weeks 4 days... jaylene died after 28 days. jisselle is turning 3 years old next month
.. She doesnt sit nor walk she has mild cerebral palsy in al four limbs its hard for her to grab things. she drinks pediasure in a bottle still.... does anyone kno if babies like this walk im so scared i want her to atleast b able to sit n use her arms... im always questioning i wonder how she will b wen shes 4? Or 5? I could use some support.

I have a 26 weeker he just turned 7. He is in half day special ed and half day mainstream. He just got off of his g-tube last november, he still picks at food and he still gets confused on wether or not he is hungry or full. I am trying to find a solution. Anyone going threw or been threw this?

I have a 24 weeker hes 8 and doing great! we went through all of the speech ot and pt thing but now hes great! Hes in the 4th grade and is in a regular ed class doing what all of the other kids his age do. The only major problem we have is with his eyes due to ROP but other than that hes great if any one wants to talk to me I've been through it all with him ill be happy to talk!

Had identical twin 23week boys in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Drayton weighed 420 grams and Phoenix was 550 grams. Phoenix died after three days of life. Drayton was in the NICU for 5 months 5 days. Currently home and almost 14 months old. Weighs 20 pounds now! Procedures Drayton had: PDA ligation, Laser surgery for stage 3 ROP, g-tube, hernia operation, malroation of lower intestine surgery. Currently has horrible reflux, lazy left eye and mild cerebral palsey. Can sit by himself and rolls everywhere.

Hi Sarah im from Australia and I had premmie twins at 28weeks and they weighted 2lb 2oz each approx,a boy and a girl.Had them in a small country town and had them baptised immediately as they didn;t know how to really look after them and had to wait till the next day for them to be airlifted to Brisbane Queensland by chopper.The boy copped the worst of it and nearly died but the girl which are always stronger only copped the heart flap not closing and it took its dam time.They are now 5yrs 9mths old now and attend preschool.They have developmental delays and she has weak ankles and has to wear orthodics and will be ongoing for the rest of her life.The boy has Hydrochephylus(2 brain bleeds on top)and has a VP Shunt which he has for the rest of his life and could die from it,He has only had it replaced last month so brain surgery,Very scarey.He is a great patient and is so used to hospitals as he has spent most of his life in and out of hospital.He has Autisum and some brain damage everytime he has surgery.His developmental delay is 2yrs behind in learning and understanding.He can be violent also.I have 5 children altogether.Oldest has ADHD+ODD and is very violent but a very high IQ.He is gifted.So that is my story about my premmie twins.Jan Australia.

I had a 26 weeker she was1#9oz who is 8 and very healthy and 30 weeker was 3#1oz who is now almost 2 and very healthy. Melissa try to give her a pacifier everytime u tube feed her. She just needs to learn to suck it will take practice and if u do it she will learn if she sucks she gets a full belly. Just dont give up!

i had my duaghter at only 6 weeks early and had to take a shot in my back of my hip to not have prermature labor once again,my son was born only 3 weeks early =weighing in at 9lbs good luck to you all

Hi Sarah, I had a preemie born at 25 weeks weighing 1 lb 11 oz. She was born with a grade 3 intraventricular hemmorage and she is still in the nicu but is getting out soon. They say that she might have cerebral palsy, just wondering if you had any problems similar to these you could tell me about. Thanks.

Hi, my name is Amanda. I have had two preemies, my first was at 28weeks and 2 days and my second was at 33 weeks. My daughter was first, she was 2lbs 4oz. We ended up staying in the hospital for 3 1/2 months and i felt like i was going to loss my mind!! My son was 5lbs 11oz, we only stayed in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks. I had twins at 27 4/7th weeks. We lost our son and our daughter is now 6 months old. I was wondering if you had any troubles getting your babies to take the bottle. We currently still have the NG tube in place and she hates it. She pulls it out every chance she gets but will only take a max of 6 oz of milk within a 24 hour period. I've tried every nipple/bottle on the market. I've boiled the nipples in vanilla extract, I've tried putting the milk in a syringe, a spoon and today I tried a sippy cup. We put her formula over a pump and she screams when she sees it. She has pulled her tube 3 times in the last week. I could use any advice if anyone has anything similar to share!

Hi, I have had 3 preemies, my last a 25 weeker weighing only 15 ounces. She is 21 months and is doing ok. She has occupational and speech therapy. She had to spend 18 weeks in the NICU and we went through alot there. I am in Maryland in the US.

My daughter was also a 23 weeker weighing 1lb 3oz and had no serious complications other than the PDA and the chronic lung disease being on the vent for so long. The only setbacks she had were expected but I started her physical and occupational therapy early around 6 mos (3 mos corrected age). She is now 4 and well adjusted and is outstanding!! I'm still amazed at how far she had come!

i had a 26 weeker and am debating on having another child, you seem to have done ok with more children, my preemie was due to hellp syndrome caused by my high blood pressure, can you give me some feed back on how you coped with having a second premie
