No not at all. My girl used to cry for cryings sake because she knew as soon as she cried we'd go to her but eventually something clicked and I realised what she was doing so one night I left her to cry just for 5 mins at first then went into see her then left, she cried again so I left it for 10 mins so on and so on and eventually (after about a week) she just went to sleep of her own accord in her own room and now nearly 10 months later (she's 2 now) we put her to bed and we don't hear a peep out of her until morning unless she's either had a really bad nightmare or feels unwell. She was 5 weeks early two. Hope this helps.

no it's not and for the long run it is probably best. We started putting our daughter down for naps and even to bed at night without rocking her at three months (adjusted). When we started she cried for a while but she has learned to calm herself and fall asleep in 5 maybe 10 minutes. If you constantly rock your child to sleep you'll get stuck rocking them until they're 1 or 2, like several of my friends and family have.

Once thier sleep organizes at around 4/3m (developmental age) if you are putting them down when they are tired a little crying won't hurt them at all and you will be training them to self soothe. You have to be comfortable with it though or they will feed off your anxiety.

no its not! alot of women say they could never put there babies down and just let them cry but me and my husband did it because we needed our sleep so bad so finally one day we just let our daughter cry of course we felt bad but it was the only way we were going to get sleep and in order for you to be okay you need your sleep to so dont feel bad or think your a bad mom because its not wrong.

no i dont think so, but everyone has differnt views on things...but i get my son cry it out sometimes i have had doctors tell me its actully good for them and sometimes they just cry to cry..and i have found that if i hold him while he goes to sleep then its hard to get him to go to bed in his own room,so finally we just put him in his crib and he may whine a bit but he goes to sleep after wards. hope this helps!
