Is my daughter considered a preemie if she was born at 36 weeks and 2 days?

My daughter was born august 17, 2012..my due date was for September 12, she weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces,no time in the nicu, but the doctors who were there made a big deal wanting to stop the contractions saying she would be a preemie if she came out and the longer she stayed in the better it would be for her but due to the fact i was 6 centimeters when i got to the hospital they just let me dilate on my own with no medications nor inducing involved..is she still considered a preemie?

My daughter was born at 36weeks 3 days... She had low birth weight but yes she was a preemie.,, Even if she was at least four pounds

Yeah she is. My little one was born at 34 weeks & was measuring at 30. I seen another post already, but any baby born before 37 weeks & has a low birth weight is considered a preemie.

yes any born before 37 wks is a preemie i know this because i just came from the hospital and they kept saying any before 37 wks was considered a preemie hope this helps :)
