My daughter was 13 weeks premature and weighed 7470z when born 24 years ago...but you never forget.

She is well and had no problems except for regular sore throats and had to have her tonsils out at age 7 due to the gavarge feeding. She is now expecting her first child and i'm very excited and am hoping she goes full term. If there is any other prem mummy out there who would like to chat feel free to do so as there wasn't antthing out there like this when i was going thru all the worries.

Hi! My son was born 9 weeks early and weighed 3lbs 9 oz. He is now 9 years old! It's true, you never forget! So far, he has been lucky. The only long term affect is his asthma. But who's to say he wasn't going to have it even if he was full term. I was wondering if your daughter ever struggled in school (compared to her peers)? My son is in 4th grade and is a bit behind in his reading skills. His teacher doesn't seemed concerned, but I'm just trying to figure out ways to help him. Just curious. Thanks.
