Hello! :) My name is Liesl (pronounced Leesl) and I'm a new mommy of twin boys. They were born 6 days ago at 26 weeks, 1 day. Robert was 1lb 14oz and William was 1lb 13oz. They're doing good so far but it's definitely scary and one of the most difficult things I've ever had to & continue to experience every day. I look forward to getting to know all of you, hearing your stories and learning from them.

First of all congraduations! It is always good to hear when preemies are doing good. Our daughter also did well while hospitalized and is doing even better now (three months later).
I was terrified when I was admitted at 32 weeks 5 days, I knew my little girl was going to be in the NICU. She was born at 2 pounds 10.4 ounces and 15 inches long, we were in the NICU for 29 days, she was 4 pounds 5.8 ounces the day we came home and she is just over 8 pounds now.
Fortunately everything went very smooth for us, but it was still very difficult and a bit un-nerving at times, I was alone in a hospital 30 miles away from home (I was transfered to a hospital with a great NICU) But all of her tests came back fine however the drs did manage to scare the crap out of me a few times with having to tell you every little thing that you dont understand and sounds 100 times worse than it is, talk to the nurses, they will become your best friends.
If you have any other questions or would like to talk feel free to contact me.
Best of luck and enjoy those babies!
