Hi! I am new to this group. I have had 3 preemies (28, 32 and 30 weekers). I am in the process of putting together a website all about preemies and the NICU experience. I need some stories of premature babies to publish in my e-zine which I will be sending out. I would really appreciate it if you would e-mail me your stories and on or two good pics.

I always found reading other peoples stories who went through the same and worse things as me very encouraging. Your support will be greatly appreciated! My e-mail is christyloubser@telkomsa.net.

Thanks in advance!
Christy

I had 3 preemies (34 week triplets) 2boys 1girl, they're going to be three years old next month. They weighed in at 5lb 1oz, 5lb 13oz, and 4lb 9oz the oldest one of the three was born with an enlarged bladder and only one kidney and now I think he might have Aspergers syndorme. The other two are doing well. If you want more info please email me @ she345@sbcglobal.net

Hi, I had a beautiful baby girl naed Lexis, she was born at 28 weeks and 1 day weighing in at 2 lbs 6 oz, we spent almost two months in the hospital. She is now 5 months old ( almost 2 months corrected). It was a hard beginning to a wonderful life, but we made it through adn couldn't be happier. Lexis is our first child, so that made it very scary and uncertain at the beginning for to young parents. I am 21 now and my boyfriend is 23 now, at the time of her birth we were only 20 and 22. My boyfriend had the best 23rd birthday, he got to hold her for the first time on his birthday, it was such a wonderful moment for both of us.

Great idea! I wish something like that existed when I had my son. He was born at 32 weeks but was a inutero growth restricted baby so he was long and developed but super thin. He weighed 3lbs 3 oz and was 18 inches long. I called him my little Shar Pei as he looked just like one of those really wrinkly dogs. He was in the NICU for 7.5 weeks. It was so frustrating to see all these other babies born at the same gestation and after my son, who were going home early and he was still having so many problems. He literally had everything - 2 cases of sepsis, one of which resulted in the need to do a spinal tap, they thought he had NEC, which later turned out to be an intolerance to cow's milk protein...; he aspirated into his lungs when being fed by one of the nurses on night-shift; he had to have a blood-transfusion becuase of all the blood testing they did daily. It was a long haul. I'm happy to report, my son Blake is doing fabulous now! He is almost 3.5 years old and is perfectly fine - no set backs. He has not missed a milestone yet. So for all those Moms out there going through the ups and downs the NICU throws your way...it does get better, and time does heal.
