My son was born at 29 weeks, he weighed 2lbs 10oz and 15in. I am just curious if anyone else has a preemie and what their weight is. Zakary will be 6 months in 3 days at his last NICU check up he weighed 11lbs 14oz and 23 1/2in.

My baby was born at 25 weeks. She was 1 lb 14 oz and 12 inches. She was in the NICU for 100 days. She came home weighing 7 lbs at almost 4 months. She is now 5. Completely healthy and she is around 31 pounds. Good luck with your little miracle.

My son was born at 32 weeks (4lb 7oz) and was 15lb 10oz at 6 months. He started cereal at 4.5 months and fruit at 5.5 months which really helped his weight:)

My daughter was born 3 weeks early at 37 weeks and weighed 5lbs 14 oz, she is now 6 months old and weighs 11lbs 8 oz. My doctor is worried about her growth rate because she is the same size as she was at her 4 month check up. She is completely healthy and nurses all the time plus has been eating baby food two sometimes 3 times a day for almost a month now, she is also accomplishing all the baby motor skills perfectly on target. She has meat on her bones, I think she is just going to be petite, like her dad and aunt. Should I really be concerned, they are talking about a feeding log, and dietician and how to add extra calories to her diet, and coming in for a weekly weight check. I don't feel that this is necessary, I don't think the doctor even looked at the fact that her daddy is a very petite person so genetically it passed on to his daughter. Anyone have any thoughts on this please let me know.

I posted on page 1 of this thread about my 33+3 baby, he was still only 9lbs at 6 months old.
He'll be 3 in April and is still a skinny mini just fully in age 2-3 year clothes but hes a happy 2 year old. And is now a big brother to a 1 year old who was delivered at 36+6 who needed no extra care.
I know my preemie journey wasn't as difficult as a lot of other babies but it makes me appreciate my boys so much ♥ x

My daughter was born at 23 weeks ten years ago and her weight was 1 pound 2 oz. She was tiny but you would never know she was a preemie today. She is on the little side compared to my husband and I but her Grandma (my mom) is the tallest girl in her family at 5 foot 2. My Grandma and my other Aunts are almost 5 feet tall. So I think it is safe to say she is taking after my mom's side. Is has always been around the 25th percentile on the growth chart. I have met many preemies that are over six feet. She was in the Hospital about the time I would have been 38 weeks along. We were very lucky that she did survive and is very healthy. She has some learning disabilities and has ADHD with the Hyperactivity. It has been a long road with lots of surprises but I wouldn't change it for the world. I have learned to much from her and the expedience. It definitley made me not take the little things for granted and that God only gives you what you can handle.

Yes I am a mother of twin preemies. They were born at 27 weeks 5 days, my girl Crystal weighed 3lbs 4oz and was 15in. My boy Jamie weighed 2lbs 10oz and was 14in. At 5 months 1 week, they both were almost normal, Crystal being 15lbs 27in, and Jamie being 16lbs 25in. They are both 12 years 6 months 1 week and Crystal is 115lbs 65in, and Jamie is 117lbs 59 in.

I hope that helps and I know that they usually get back on the normal chart around 1 years.

Im a worrier I wont lie, Im always wondering if shes gaining weight, shes not eating enough, etc. My little one was a 30 weeker 3lbs 1oz. After she left the NICU she really started gaining weight in the beginning but she eventually reached a pleteau. She was 4 months and 11 lbs I think and wouldnt gain any weight, so the GI let me introduce solids, vegetables & fruits, 4 wks later the weight gain hadnt been sufficient and we introduced chicken into the equation with a little bit of butter and she started gaining weight since. But she still has her moments, shes a finicky eater. Shes 6 1/2 months now and weighs 14 lbs.

My daughter was the same weight, lengh and also a 29 weeker. She took long time to catch up she was always a small child. Now she is 18 and although she has ADHD and suffers from OCD's you would never know she was born a preemie. Don't judge your son by the standard scales all preemies are different . At 6 months my daughter only weighed 8lbs 2oz. Your son is doing fine!

My oldest daughter Christina was born at 24 weeks weighted 1lb 14 ozs. in 1979 in NICU for 3 months. Second daughter Amanda was born at 28 weeks weighted 2lbs 14 1/2ozs. in 1982. in NICU for 29days. Amanda is 28 married just had her second child August 26th 2010. While she has had no problems her sister did. I don't know how much to say on here dont want to scare anyone. I will say we were so very blessed to have Christina for almost 26 years before she passed in March 2005. If I can give any advice it would be if you think in your heart there is just something not right with your lil one dont let any dr tell you that you are just over reacting because of having a preemie. You know your baby better than anyone you are their mom. If you see they are delayed in any way address the issue early on. I was young only 17 when I had Christina and I didn't know that Dr's DON'T know it ALL!!!! I got no help from medical feild I got all my information from other parents with preemies. I had a GREAT support system with GOD & my FAMILY. I hope I haven't upset anyone that is not wanted I intended to do. So let me say I am sorry if I did. Take care, Love your babies & have a blessed day.

He is now 15 and is 5 feet 11 inches tall and an honor roll student. Don't worry, when he is ready he will catch up.
