My son was 4 weeks premature. He weighed 5 lbs, 7 oz and was 18.25 in. At his 2 month appt he was 9 lbs and 21in. He will be 3 months in 4 more days and is still in NB clothes. His arms are long like his daddy so he looks so funny with them hanging out. But when I put him in 0-3 his feet come out of the legs because he's not very long! It seems like his inbetween sizes stage, preemie to nb, nb to 0-3....takes so long like 3 weeks!! he just looks ridiculous in everything he wears!! Just curious to what everyone elses preemie born babies are wearing and how old, and did your inbetween stage last so long?!

My daughter was 3 1/2 weeks early. Her cord was wrapped around her ankles and so every time she would move her heart rate would go really low and then back up. I ended up having an emergency c section on March 15, 2011 and she was 5 lbs 13 oz. Now she is almost 1 and she wears anything from 18 months to 24 months. She didn't stay in any size for long. She has been in 18-24 month clothes for about 6 months.

my daughter was born at 26wks 2lbs 6oz she wore new born clothers probably until she was about 7months old but she only wore 3 month sizes for about a month and went to 6-9 months now shes 13months and shes still in 6-9 month clothes except her legs are so short that she wears 3-6 month pants, its so frustrating because you cant buy the cute little outfits with the tops and bottoms because theyre in 2 sizes!

My song was born 10 weeks early. He weighed 4 pounds, 3 ounces and was 17.5 inches long. I had gestational diabetes otherwise he would have been smaller. Right now he is almost 6 months old and is just fitting 0-3 month clothes.

My daughter was born at 28 weeks, weighed 2 lbs, 10 oz at birth. She's almost 3 now and wearing 3T clothes. But the early stages were silly, premie clothes were too big for her for a long time!! They'll grow into things though!

My daughter was born at 30 weeks and is now 18 months old. I remember going from preemie to newborn to 0-3 month clothing. It seemed as though she was in 0-3 month clothing forever! She is short, so we used to put her in newborn pants and 0-3 month shirts. Your son is still young, so it will take a while for clothes to fit properly and "look good". Currently, my daughter is still in 12 month clothing because she started to lose weight (we are having feeding issues), so even some 12 month pants are large. She's been in 12 month clothing since she was about 13 months old. It just depends on the child. It is hard when your child is in between sizes because they don't make belts for babies--more specifically for jeans. (I have looked everywhere for belts!)

My son was born at 29 weeks at 2 lbs 7 oz. He is now 2 years, 8 months old & weighs in at 28 lbs. He wears a 2T comfortably . He is shaped like his father, so his legs are on the shorter side with a longer torso.
At 12 months my son was wearing 6 months clothes. But they go thru growth spurts & by the time he was 18 months old he was wearing 18 mo clothes. they catch up really fast. sometimes i look at my baby and can't beleive its the same child!

Now he is almost 1 on the 30th of this month and he is in 12 month clothing but it all depends he can still fit into some 6 months if it's a lil bigger. And his in between stage lasted about 2-3 months, he got a huge growth spirt than stopped he hasnt grown since november of 2009.

My son was born at 26 weeks - 1 pound, 6 ounces
He just turned three and he does wear 2T-3T shirts, but he's still wearing 18-24 month shorts and pants.. he has no hips or butt to keep them up! It is hard to find clothes that fit right and those that do have all the snaps up the legs or they are overalls which makes potty training a bit difficult... he has never fit really well into any outfit. He has long legs so he needs the larger sizes but then they don't fit his hips and can't find belts that will keep them up.... try to find bottoms with elastic waistbands, that should help..

My daughter was born at 25 weeks 1lb 1/2 oz 11 in long and was smaller then a beanie baby so when she was 2 months she was able to wear these little shirts that were made just for her. She got into preemie cloths at about 4 months. She is now 4 and in a size 24 months. But her waist is really only a 9-12 month depending on the pant. I have to do the pinch and stitch on the waist of her pants. I love stitch witchery cause it is a fast fix with out all the sewing to solve the pant length prob and it can be undo just as fast if your little on grows.

My daughter was born 30 weeks 2days. She has just had her 2nd birthday and cannot wear above 00 in pants and shorts but in tops and dresses can get away with an 0 or a size 1. I think some preemies stay small and some grow more quickly. But I thought it was an advantage in a way because she got a lot more wear out of all her clothes (NB - 0) It is just frustrating when you see sales and you are trying to guage what size they will fit next season. lol

My daughter was born 5 weeks early and she would have easily fitted 000000 but we couldn't find any that small at the time, so we made do with the premmie clothes we could get. 7 months on, my daughter still fits NB clothes but its getting colder here so we have started with 000 winter clothes. She will grow into them..... eventually !

My daughter was 7 weeks early, she is 13 1/2 months old and weighs about 16 lbs, she wears mostly 6 month sizes and 9 month depending upon brand. She just started walking and is wearing a size 2 shoe.
My son was 4 weeks early, he is 2 1/2 years old and is wearing 3T shirts because he is so tall, but because he is so skinny he can still wear 12 month shorts. I have to buy jeans that have the adjustable waistbands from Tommy Kids and Old Navy so his jeans will fit right.

I can put her in 0-3 mos but I have to roll up the sleeves and pant legs and the pants fall off and she hates when her legs get caught up in the body of sleepers...so I stick to NB for now. lol

My son will be 5 in May & he was born at 36 weeks & weighed 3 llbs 11 oz he now weighs 27lbs extremly underweight still. He was in premmies till he was 2 months & nb till he was between 3 & 4 months basically yea he alwayz inbetween. Too long for the size that fit him & too shot for the next size. I have to by all his pants from old navy because they have the elastic adjust waist bands, but he can fit his age sized tops & now pants as long as I buy them with the elastic adjusters. It sounds like your son is doin way better than mine tho I'm sure he'll grow out of it & catch up with his age group my 2nd premmie did. You couldn't tell she was one now.

My daughter was 7+ w early, at 4lb 6oz 17". She was 7lb 10oz & 20.25"at her 2month appointment, still wearing preemie clothes. Now, she's nearly 4 months old and still wearing some newborn clothes, some 0-3, some 3m (0-3 fit best). The clothes have a wide range depending on the brand, cut, etc.

Her in-between stages did seem to last a long time, but she's our first so I have nothing to compare it to.

just when you think they have caught up and start to look "normal", toilet training starts. i found that nappys used to help skylar (now 3.5yrs) to fill out her jeans and i could dress her for her length rather then her waist. now she is in knickers NOTHING FITS!!! at all. i have to use nappy pins to keep her skirts up and i have 1 belt that sky can use for her jeans. other wise its back to leggins that are size 0 or 1 and come up to her knees!! so i can dress her for lengthand nothing fits her waist or dress the waist and she walks around with cold ankles.

I had one preemie and one that was on time born very small. My preemie was 5lbs 9oz. and is now 3 wearing a 24 month. My very small on time baby was born at 4lbs. 15oz. he is now 11 and is wearing an 8. He is still very small for his age, but also deals with some disorders that require medication that disapates his appetite for most of his day. Hard to believe his 6 year old sister is only a pound less than him. It just goes to show that no matter how early or late or even on time, no matter how big or small they were at birth they all grow at their own rate.

My son was born at 27 weeks gestation, exactly 3 months preemie weighing in at 2 pounds and 2 ounces. He is now 9 months (6 months corrected) and is almost 15 pounds. He wears anything from 3-9 months depending on the brand name. Don't worry too much about the size of the clothes as preemie babies always catch up to the full term babies and as long as your Ped is ok with the weight gain and your baby is meeting the size/measurements on the growth chart, nothing else to worry about.
BTW, my son was stuck on newborn to 3 months for about 5 months and just started to outgrow my newbie stuff.

She needs the pants in a 24 months to 2t because she has long legs. I have to buy pants with belt loops to keep them up. She is in a size 3 diaper and size 5 shoe. Now she weighs 23 pounds. She has belly button hernia and has to have an operation next year. So I hope that she picks up some weight so the operation will go smoothly.

My little girl was a 26 weeker at 1lb 6oz and now she is 24 months and in a size 18 months for her pants and 24mos for her tops. She is now only 20lb 10oz. a little peanut. It was the same way for us when she was little. She was 6mos old and in NB cloths. I found that at some points she would be creeping closer to the correct size to age and then she would get sick and fall behind. I like Old Navy because their pants are skinny and Kaylee is a skinny girl.
