agree with other moms as well...my daughter was born at 32 weeks and has acid reflux as well. We too had a very hard getting her to sleep and once we corrected the acid reflux with zantac it helped a ton...Night and day

well she is already in ranidine but it doesnt seem to work she still has a lot of reflux.We went to the doctor today and increase the dose and told me that because she was preemie it will take around 16 weeks to "be normal", when her age corrected is around 3 months, That means 2 more months of no sleep.I hope there will be a solution out there!!

HI Pilar - would agree with the other moms...my 30week old also had acid reflux.  meds helped as did my cutting out all dairy in my diet as I was nursing.  He seems to have an intolerance to dairy and garlic and onions and cucumber and red/green peppers.  He also would not take a souther....as a last resort because we could not take the sleepless nights anymore I started co-sleeping for 3months with him until he was about 6months old.  it made night time breast feedings a dream and we all slept better - we actually slept.  today the little guy is a cuddler and yes a bit more needy but also he was a preemie and is a gift that he is here.  so some extra love up front and we will correct it later on if we need to - but being happy all around right now is the most important part of this.  Good luck...

Does she appear to be really gassy or having tummy cramps? My son was born at 30 weeks and couldn't sleep more than 30 minutes at a time because he seemed to be in pain. We tried all the gas remedies...Mylicon, Gripe Water, etc. Those didn't help. Then we thought it was reflux and he was prescribed Prevacid. This didn't seem to help either. After many sleepless nights and much frustration of not being able to help my son, I did some research and talked to a chiropracter who is more "alternative" and we tried him on probiotics. I would just mix it in with a bottle of pumped breastmilk once a day. I was amazed at how much it really helped him. I know that there is still a lot of research being done on probiotics so I would talk to your doctor, but it really was a lifesaver for us!!

I agree. My son was also born at 31 weeks and at about 2 months was diagnosed with acid reflux. The medicine worked wonders. The other idea is to keep her hear raised. We had put a couple of towels folded under the crib mattress, which helps the acid to go down, as opposed to lying down where it can go up or down. You also might want to see how she sleeps in her car seat, which is also on an incline. Good luck!

Have you had the MD explore the possiblity of acid reflux. My daughter had similiar issues and was diagnosed with bed acid reflux. Once we put her on medicine for the reflux it helped tremendously.
