my baby was 6 weeks premature now 21 mnth old but only 76cms in height .... apparently shez the smallest in her play group this is bothering me a lot...sld i consult a doctor? anyone with such short height baby?

My baby was 8 weeks premature. She's now 14 months old and still wearing 0 - 3, and some 3- 6, months clothing. But the doc says we don't really need to be concerned, as long as her height and weight are in proportion. Do you have a growth chart for her? Is her line on a constant curve? Maybe she is just petite, I don't think it is something to be too concerned with, as long as she's healthy and happy. Doctors may suggest growth hormones if you're really concerned, but I personally don't think that's necessary, it's more to put the parent's mind at ease.

I agree with another mom that if weight and growth are steady there is less to worry about. If she is having regular checkups with her dr. ask whether she is having a normal growth curve - if she is progressing at each visit she may be fine. If you have other developmental concerns, you may need to have her evaluated, which you can do for free - ask your dr for a referral to Early Intervention services in your state.

your baby isnt that small at allllllll... my son is 26 months nd hes about that height... its 2 feet... and for a girl thats actually big. what siz clothes does she wear? i dont see a reason to be concerned.

This is exceptionally small for her age but if she is growing and eatting well then there is not alot that can be done. I don't know where you are in the world but in the UK all children are assessed at 2.5 for weight height and development. This would be the time to ask about her height issues.
My daughter is the opposite she is the height of a 4 year old and only 2.5. The problem is people exspect to much of her because she looks much older than she is.
