What was the reason you had a preemie & how early were they?

My daughter was born 6 weeks early. my water broke 8 weeks early but they made mw wait two weeks so she could grow more. She had a tumor on her butt called SCT. she weighed 11 pounds when she was born and after surgery she weighed four pounds and thats with her being full of fluids and she had gotten 2 blood transfusions. But she is growing fine and now at 1 she weighs 23 pounds. They didnt think she was going to make it but she beat the odds and is doing amazing!!

My daughter was born at 28 weeks and weighed 2 pounds, 3 ounces. I suffered from preeclampsia, HELLP, toxemia, hyperemesis, etc.

My son was born at 34 weeks, weighing 4 pounds, 10 ounces. I was able to carry him longer due to the fact that the doctors found a blood clotting condition and with two shots of heparin a day in my belly (ouch!) the preeclampsia was held off longer.

My son Timothy was born at 25w6d. He was 1 pound 9.2 ounces and 12 3/4 inches at birth. He spent 10 weeks in NICU and thankful to God had no major problems or illnesses. I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix as the reason for pre term delivery. I wasn't having any issues and the problem was discovered by sonogram that Monday. Timothy was delivered by C-section that Sunday.

My kids were born at 31 weeks - I was pregnant with triplets and started having preterm labor at 30 weeks. Held them off for a week in the hospital and they were born just over 3 pounds each - now they are 3.5 years old and doing great!!

My oldest son was born at 26 weeks, weighing 1lb 13oz due to a prolapsed cord & weakened cervix. BUT, 22 months later I gave birth to twin boys(ER C-section) 3lb 9oz & 3lb 13 oz at 34 weeks. After 3 surgeries on cervix and a 10 week stay in the hospital on bed rest!

My beautiful girl was born at 30weeks exactly --- firstly my waters broke at 15weeks and resealed by 27weeks and then broke again at 28 and a half weeks.. I was put on bed rest in the hospital and observed the entire time and on the 30week they told me i was having a baby today... she was born at 4lbs 10oz and was 17 3/4 inches.. she is a blessing as her birth weight then dropped down to below 3lbs and had brady events and apena... we were in the NICU for 2 and half weeks.... but now she is doing great..

Wow.. This sounds familiar I delivered my son @ 31 weeks he was 2lbs 4 oz and 15 1/2 inches long! How long was your lil boy in the NICU?

My twins were born at 30 weeks because my water broke. My girls were monoamniotic, so I had already been in the hospital for a month prior to their birth. The doctors were trying to get us to at least 32 weeks, but the girls had other plans. Thankfully, there were no major complications and we had a relatively short NICU stay (37 days).

My daughter was born at 26 wks she weighting at 6pds 1oz but she was really skinny and long. i had to be induce to have her bc i found out at 8months i found out i had high protein in my urine plus she was not really get big and they had me deliver her after she was born we found out she has a heart problems, breathing problems and gag reflex problems she is now 19months and started walking about a month ago she came along way with her heart problems and delays

My son was born at 32 weeks + 3 days, weighing 2lbs 15 ounces and 16 inches long. I had to have a C-section due to pregnancy induced hypertension. He spent one month in NICU and everything turned out fine. Wouldn't think he was a preemie now!

i have four children three were preemie. my second child kayden was born at 28 weeks weighin 1 lb 15 oz and was 14inches i had him early due to pProm my water broke at 26 weeks 6 days and i delivered 8 days later my third child kita was born at 29 weeks weighing 2lbs 10 oz and 16 inches long she was born early due to pProm same as first water broke early 8 days later i delivered her and my last child kina was born at 27 weeks weighin 2lbs even and 14 3/4 inches i went into labor at 27 weeks when i got to the hospital my water was bulgin i was dialated to 4 and she was breech so they did emergency c section.

I had my son at 33 wks. He was 4 pounds and 1/2 oz, 16". He is now 22 and 6 feet tall. The water we had where we lived when i was carrying him was to high in nitrates. My son is completely normal now.

i had my son at 35 weeks due to placenta abruption. 20 minutes later i would have lost him. 4 lb 13 oz 18in long.

My son was born at 34 weeks gestation and weighed in at 3lbs. 15oz. I delivered him via c-section after 26 hours. labor was induced due to preeclampsia, toxemia, cholestasis of pregnancy, low amniotic fluid and liver failure. He spent 10 days in the NICU and he starts preschool tomorrow. Perfectly healthy little boy!

My twin boys were born @ 25 weeks due to unknown reasons, weighing 840grams (1pd 13.5oz) and 25cm long and 968grams (2pd 2oz) and 29cm. Spontaneous labour, no health problems....

I had twin boys born at 35 weeks. They weighed 4lbs 11oz and 5lbs 4oz. I went into labor on my own when my water broke at home. I delivered by emergency c-section.

My daughter was born at 34weeks. She weight 4lbs 5.9oz and 16in long! I have a condition called imcompitant cervix where the cervix can not stand the weight of the growing baby and it basically just opens completely up. I was diagnosed with this after my first daughter in 2006 that was born at 22weeks. her lungs were not developed and she only lived for 2hrs and 40min! I miss her dearly! RIP Allyson Jade, mommy loves u!!

My son was born at 35 weeks by emergency C sec as he was not going to survive any longer in the womb. His heart rate was dropping continuously, his cord was suffocating him, the placenta had almost died so he had stopped growing a few weeks before and they said it was more dangerous to leave him inside. He weighed 3 lb 14 oz and dropped a little more weight in the incubator and in SCBU but is 5 months and now 13 lb 5 oz. Yay : )

They aren't sure why i went into labour but are thinking it was caused by a kidney infection I was diagnosed with 2 weeks earlier.

My twins were born at 33 weeks and weighed 4lbs 8oz 17 1/4 inches long and 4lbs 3oz 18 inches long. My twins were monoamniotic twins which means they were in the same sac. This was a very high risk pregnancy so I was in the hospital 6 weeks before delivering. They were going to be delivered at 34 weeks regardless but one of my nonstress tests showed one of the babies was having a low heart beat for to long and they were concerned there might be cord entanglement cutting of blood circulation to one of the babies..

My daughter McKenleigh was born 36 weeks and 4 days early due to preeclamcia. I had an emercency c-section because I wouldn't stop bleeding. My daughter weighed in at 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 20 in.

My TRIED to come at 33 weeks due to Group B Strep but they stopped the labor. He still ended up being born early at 36 weeks. I am VERY blessed though, as he was 6lbs 9oz when he was born.

WELL ALL OF MY CHILDREN WERE BORN EARLY BECAUSE OF A WEAK PLACENTA. THE NEWEST BABY WAS BORN CLOSE TO THE DUE DATE B/C I HAD A GREAT DOCTOR WHO TOOK GREAT CARE OF ME. I ALSO HAD TO GET PROGESTERONE SHOTS DURING THIS LAST PREGNANCY BECAUSE OF MY AGE. THE SHOTS WERE TO KEEP THE BABY IN THE WOMB LONGER.

My son was born at 35 weeks (he weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz) due to me having kidney problems as well as a incomplete cervix. I went into labor with him at 33 weeks but they kept it at bay to were my contractions weren't strong enough to dialate me anymore (I was at a 3) then at 35 weeks my water broke so I had him then. My daughter was born at 36 weeks (5 lbs. 12 oz) due to my incomplete cervix!

my daughter Haleigh was born at 33wks she weighed 4lbs 15oz.........no real problems just went into labor i went to the hospital at ll at nite and had her at 3:38am labor was amazing had no pain cuz all i had was back labor thats the best labor to have it just felt like menstal craps in your back tho!!.....think my body was just to small she couldnt get any bigger or flip over she was frank breech so i had to have a c section!!

Both my girsl were preemie at 35 weeks and 5 days, the reason I had to deliver early was because the placenta wasn't giving them the nutrients they needed and they stop growing. They also couldn't handle the contracts

My daughter Gracie was born at 28weeks + 4days and weighed 1lb and 10ounces. I was admitted 24hours prior to her delivery with Pre-eclampsia which progressed to HELLP syndrome and eclampsia. My blood Pressure really spiked and her heartrate was decreasing rapidly and then stopped in which they had no choice but to deliver. From the time they pulled my bed out of the wall to her delivery was 12minutes.
