My son was born 7 weeks early. He will be 8 months old tomorrow (6 adjusted) and isnt sitting up yet. He's starting to get the feel of it and I help him sit up but he falls right over when I let him go. He rolled over a couple of weeks ago but doesnt do it all the time. What about your preemies?

My premmie was 5 weeks early. She 31 weeks old but 26 weeks corrected. She isnt sitting on her own unsupported yet but she gets the idea as soon as i let go shes wobbly then falls over and she has only rolled over from front to back a few times. I am worried because im a born worrier ha! I cant help but compare my baby to my other friends babies and how they are developing sooo quickly. This is normal right? Some advice please! Thanks :)

My son was born at 36 weeks gestational age. He started sitting unsupported at 7.5 months. He' 8.5 months old now and just starting to get up on his hands and knees for crawling. He rolled from back to tummy at 5 months and tummy to back at 6 months. They all develop at their own rate, don't stress about it :)

My son is now 7yrs old he was born at 28weeks and he started sitting by himself around 8/9month. I started supporting him with pillows when he was around 7months. Preemies usually are a bit behind in development during the first two years but my son after his third birthday, you would not tell any difference with a full term.

my daughter was 6 wks early and started sitting up at about 6 months. Dont worry preemies always have a chance of developing and learning things a bit later then other babies. UR little cutie will start sitting up when hes ready.

My first preemie was 6 weeks early and didn't sit on his own until almost 11 months (9 months and couple weeks corrected) old he started rolling over all the way at about 9 months (about 7 and a bit months corrected) every thing he did was late from cutting teeth to walking (he was 18 months old when he took his first steps alone) He never crawled and he started talking at 5 month corrected.

My second preemie is now 6 months 2 weeks corrected and he has been rolling over for 2 monthes now he has his first tooth and is almost sitting for 3 mins on his own. He is close to crawling, he does a snipper crawl at the moment.

The one thing I have noticed about preemies is that they are as individual as any term baby and they will all develop their skills as needed. The best thing is you are helping your baby by supporting him as he sits, keep doing that and one day he will surprise you.

There are games you can play to help with rolling and other movement and your dr should be able to help if you are really worried.

The main thing is that you relax and enjoy your bubs.

My baby was born 12 weeks to early, but weight 6.3 pounds (I was diabetic) Just like being early with birth, she is early with everything, she is 2 years and 4 mnths now. She started to sit by her self round about 5 mnths, were crawling by 7 mnths and a week before her first birthday, she just got up and started to walk all on her own. every child has their own time in doing things, don't push your little one to hard, it will happen eventualy. Not all developments are the same, by the age of 1 my baby had only 4 teeths, she were suppose to have about 8. so sit back and relax, give him time.

My little girl is 10months old. she was 4 weeks early and only five pounds. she started sitting up completely by herself around 7 or 8 months maybe a little later than that. Keep propping him up with a boppy or something like that if you dont have one. It will definately help... since the boppy lays them back so far I used to take and prop the back half of the boppy up eith a pillow to give extra back support and that really helped her to sit up better on her own. She has jsut in the last month really gotten the hang of sitting up well though so just be patient. SHe was late in doing almost everything.
