where did you get your babys name from? my ex wanted to call my daughter sky but it is a very popular name in australia, maybe too popular. the name skylar just popped into my head and i thought its different without being too different and causing her to have trouble at school.

We named our new daughter Delaney Dot. We both just love the name Delaney and Dot is after my grandmother who passed 2 years ago. Her name was Dorthy, but my grandfather called her Dot. Sentimental to me.

We named my daughter Olivia Anne. I chose Olivia because I don't know anyone with that name and it's simple and elegant. We chose Anne because on my side of the family, Anne is passed downed . My mom's middle name is Anne and mine is Suzanne, so we decided to keep the tradition. I'm glad I had a girl, because my partner and I couldn't agree on a boy's name. lol

Kylie Antonia. I wanted a "K" name to be like me and her Great Grandmother's name was Antonia before she was sent to an orphanage at age 5 and her name was changed to Regina. She never got to use her real name so I thought I'd give it to my daughter. She raised me so it was also in honor of her. My middle name is Ann so we share all of the same initials. I can hand down all of my monogrammed belongings to her and she can wear them as is.

My son's name is Jaxon Peter (Peter is his dad's middle name as well), and both my parents and my hubbys parents were concerned about the spelling and worried he would have troubles in school later on because it was spelt different then Jackson and that people would call him Jason, but like one of the other ladies said its character building. If you love the name, GO FOR IT! :-]

my girls were all adopted so we kept their birthnames for their first names and gave them each two middle names so they could have a choice when they got older. And wouldn't you know that one of my girls didn't like any of her names, so changed one of her middle name's to June after June Carter Cash! I know lots of people who have changed thei names as adults, but hope my other girls keep theirs!!

I got all mine off the internet. I wanted names that had meaning. I have 3 girls. The oldest is names Zoey (Life), then there's Trinity (Three, because I always felt I'd have 3 kids) and Jaiden (God has heard, because we tried for 2 years to get pregnant with her and I prayed and prayed).

Being as our daughter was so early we had no name for a time, after the nurses started calling her baby noname we thought we better move. We looked in all the books and texted all our friends for their lists... Someone sent back Drew and after looking it up and finding it meant brave and courageous we named our daughter. One of the nurses we liked suggested Lucia meaning fair hearted so we went with Drew Lucia. I think Skylar is a lovely name and quite frankly if there is any problems at school, it is a good thing for kids to figger out - character building. I'm going to wait till my next baby is born and then come up with a name ... Good luck.

My daughter's name is Alixe Catherine, since both me and my husband are very proud of our French Canadian Heritage, we wanted to give her a name that sounded great in French & in English, Her little brother's name is Mathis Daniel, for the same reason.

My oldest son's name is Eladio Rico. We wanted something that wasn't common, but also hispanic because his dad is. His dad suggested Eladio but spelled Iladio which I hated but once I played around with spelling I started to fall in love with it. Although we did have Jayden Oakley in our minds too, but when he came he was a dark little mexican baby so we named him Eladio, and Rico after his dad. For my second baby I really wanted to name something hispanic again because I knew I wouldn't like if they were extremely different from each other. And it really bothered me the entire time I was pregnant becuase people kept asking me if I got to name this one, well I named my last one too so yes I get to name this one. But my second son's name is Elias Oakley. All throughout my pregnancy my mind kept going to it, and then when his dad didn't want a part in naming him I did it myself lol. So Elias because I liked it and Oakley after my grandpa. Plus the names go well together, I hate when names clash with each other.

My oldest son's name is Kingston (like Kingston, Jamaica) cause I love Bob Marley...this was before Gwen Stefani named her child that for the same reason. Kawika is my younger son's name after my papa that passed away while I was pregnant. His name was David but Kawika is Hawaiian for David. My papa wasn't Hawaiian but my grandma was and they called him Kawika out of affection so it fit...and my daughter is Kylah Marie because it was all we could agree upon.
I know your worries about a "different" name, I don't live in Hawaii anymore and worried about that too with my younger son, so we gave him a "common" middle name that he can go by if he chooses to do so. Good luck

Then with number 2 Jake I really liked the name and had it as an option for first preg but was reading a book with a Jake in it and when he came along it just seemed to fit!!

My daughter is 3 and a half and her name is Chelsea Jude. It was easy to come up with the name. Her Daddy and I threw a few names around and we both loved the name Chelsea and I wanted to have her middle name so she was named after my Mum "Judy". I didn't think Judy was a name that really suited our generation but we decided on Jude as we thought it sounded so much cooler. I love my Mum to bits and she is like one of my best friends, so to name my daughter after her feels both amazing and perfect!

We really hope we have a little boy oneday so we can name him Connor Jordan Brock. Connor because both mine and Daddy's families are from an IRISH decent, Jordan because I've had that name picked out to name a son for 16 years lol and my partner recently said he wanted to have the name Brock in there to, in memory of Peter Brock (the race car driver).. He's was a mad fan! :o)

Well my little girl started out as Savannah Morgan, but someone in my family told me (while I was prego) that it sounded like a stripper name. lol. I still disagree but my husband got scared. So we named her after his sister. Kaylee Morgan Hadfield. His sisters middle name is Kay. I think that now at 22 month her name fits her.

We named our daughter Juniper. . .the hubby just thought of it and felt it would be a good name for a girl. We had it picked out even before we decided to get pregnant! If it makes any more sense, we are both professional cooks, so a foodie name was bound to please us. :)

I went traditional and named my first son after his father, Jeremy. But we call him by his second name which is Clem. For my second son I went with Noah because when I was pregnant I just couldn't stop watching The Notebook and that's the name of the leading male character. It just stuck in my head and I couldn't get it out.
