I had my precious angel at 25 weeks,,, now she is 9 and a half months (real age) and she is only 12 and a half pounds. I am feeding her every 2 1/2 to 3 hours on a 27 calorie diet. We see 5,000 specialists and everything is WONDERFUL (thank God) but i would love to hear if anyone else had weight gain issues and how they resolved. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had twin girls born at 23 weeks and 5 days. They are 1 year corrected and one of my daughters is still struggling to gain weight. She is still only about 14 1/2 pounds. She is on a 30 calorie diet. I have been dealing with a dietician since my girls came home and all you can do is continue to feed the way you have been and stay positive!! :)

After the first bite, she looked at me as if to say,"Where has this been all this time!?" lol She is now eating around 5 tablespoons of solids with her 27 cal. formula a day,,, BRING ON THE LBS.!!!! ;)

I have a 25 weeker too. She is just 16 pounds and 13 months (real age). She's doing well even though she doesn't weigh much. The doctor tells us it's better that she's under and not over weight in the long run.

well i'd like to say there are ways to make preterm babies chunkky but unfortunatly like my stubborn daughter who was born at 28weeks but weighing only 1lb 10oz likes to only put on 2oz a week which is not a lot at all, so maybe its normal for them to be tiny, just think back at the time she was born & the progress shes made from then till now :)
