My 12 year old just got her period 3 days ago and now I ma super scared! I guess I knew the day was coming when my baby would start to become a young woman but I didn't expect it so quickly. This has opened a whole new door for me and I am definitely unprepared. What is the best way for me to have "the talk" with her without making her uncomfortable but getting the point across? I am stumped and need help. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated

Ok so I am going through EXACTLY the same thing now.. Today was the day :( But she has LEARNED all of it in school, nowadays the school is the parent lol but its scary cus I had no idea about the sex ed, "maturing" and about drugs they have so deeply learned about.... We talked via text she said I need to talk to you.... then she said no later, I thought one of her friends was in a bad wreck or something really happened. She is so embarrassed or something she is sleeping UNDER her bed lol I have been crying off an on im like WOW... idk. Just let her come to you and make sure she has what she needs I went to walmart here at 1 am got her some pamprin and pads lol said the stuff you need is available and if u need to talk

I purchased a book from american girl called The Care and Keeping of you The Body Book for Girls and it was real helpful. I checked it out at the library first and we read it together and then she said she would like to keep it so I went and bought one. Target sells it for $10 the author is Valorie Lee Schaefer.
