My son was born 15 weeks early, weighting 1 lb 13 oz. He's now 21 months actual (18 corrected). He was weighted last month at 28 lbs which puts him in the 85% for his adjusted age and the 50% for his actual age.

don't worry about the weight if she is eatting and growing..My son was born 1lb 7oz he is now 16lbs 11oz and he is 14 1/2 months..but all his dr say that for his hight and weight for a baby that was born at 26 weeks he geart he's in the 25%...but for his age he's not even in the 5%..

My baby is nearly turning 1. She was born 14 weeks early weighed only 440gm and at the moment she is only 10lbs. So she is no where near the normal weight. She doesn't even make it into any of the pecentiles on the charts. She still looks like a new born baby

I hope this helps. My oldest Tyler is 7 and a half years old and he was born 9 weeks prematurely, and he is still very small for his age. He wasnt on the charts until he was three and now at 7 he is in the 20th percentile, while my other children are in much higher percentile. As infants they actually have a differnt scale for height and weight for their gestational age. So I would ask the pediatrician to show you that chart for preemies, and you will feel better about their smaller size. Aside from his slightly smaller size, Tyler has no other physical implications that he was a preemie, he is reading, playing sports and a wonderful healthy 7 year old. You almost forget the whole ordeal, little preemies are so amazing :)
