I am wondering if after having a premie, did you go full term with your next one?

My husband and i are very seriousily concidering having another baby. I have 2 children now. My son(almost 10) was born at 38wks weighing 9lbs and 21 in. My daughter(16mos old) was born at 34wks weighing 6.4lbs and 19 in. I had gestational diabetes with my second baby, and my doc thinks i als o ended up with it at the end of my first pregnancy, after they did the testing. I'm not so sure on that, and i my husband is 6'4 and weighed almost 11lbs at birth. I am only 5'2 and weighed 6.5lbs when i was born. Either way, i had bleeding issues eary on with my daughter as the placenta was quite low. it did move up and out of the way. I would like to know if you had a premie and then went full term? What was age difference between the 2? Was the next one early? How big? Did they require special nursery time? I'm trying to get a good base as to how we are going to decide on doing this. My doc says go for it. She think i would likely not go 40wks, but that it would be born likely before my son was and after my daughter was. I was also told she thinks i have a 90% chance of getting the gestational diabetes again. Did you have this issue? did it follow all other pregnancies? Thanks for your help and sharing your experiences!

My first was born at 25 wks. There was no real reason ever found. My second was born 3.5 years later at 37 w1d. I went to a high risk clinic during that pregnancy and they were very accepting of my psycho moments of worry. Go for it, but make sure you have someone taking care of you that takes your worries seriously. Mommas know when something isn't right.

My first son was born at 24 weeks due to incompetent cervix he spent 16 months in NICU and is now almost 3 and doing really well. I am now pregnant with my 2nd son and I had to have a cerclage at 14 weeks to keep him in and now I am 39 weeks 2 days!!!! :) I had the cerclage removed at 37 weeks so now its just the waiting game. If it wasnt for God and the cerclage I dont think I would have made it this far.

1st born was born at 32 weeks, 4lb 7oz and didn't have time for steroids so was in the NICU for 21 days. With my 2nd, I started going into labor at 22 weeks and spent 4 months on strict bedrest with 2 hospitalizations. Despite this, we made it to 37w3d! She arrived with a perfect 10/10 apgar score :)

My daughters was born at 26 weeks and was in the NICU for 3 months. She is super perfect 22 month old now. I have a severe septum in my uterus that long story short, only gave my daughter 1/2 of a uterus to live in. I recently had surgery to fix some of the problem, but they will never be able to fix all of it. As long as my uterus was the only problem I should be ok to have another one. Every pregnancy is different and no matter what it's always a leap of faith.

My first was a preterm baby (36 wks 6lbs 10 oz) and my second was full term (37 wks 6lbs 12 oz). They are two years apart. I have PPROM so I have no control when I go into labor. I did not get gestational diabetes in either pregnancy. Don't be offened if I ask if you're overweight? If so losing weight before you get pregnant again would be your best bet in not getting gestational diabetes again. Then again, every pregnancy is different! Good luck and I hope I was able to help you at least a little bit!

I had premature twins at 27 weeks. (they are 7 now) and my daughter was full term at around 37 weeks (she is 4 now). I also have a friend and her first was a preemie due to blood pressure and had 2 after that who were full term. All babie are different and so is each pregnancy :)

My first one was born at 33.6 wks and my second was 35 weeks. Every baby is different. Markie probably would have gone home earlier if he hadn't had a seizure and Ben was only in the NICU for a week. I had GD with both boys and probably would have carried Benjamin longer if I hadn't gone into pre-eclampysia.
