Hi my name is Amanda. My son Michael was born 5 weeks early due to my water breaking. I was having no contractions so they had to induce. My son was born 7 lbs 1 oz a beatiful healthy baby boy. Not one thing was wrong with him and he was able to come home with me the very next day with us being discharged an hour before my baby shower was to start. He is now 4 1/2 months old and is still a perfectly healthy boy!

Hello, I'm Meghan. I was induced with my son Mason at 35weeks due to high blood pressure. He was 6lbs 7oz and 18 1/2in. and amazingly he was fine and didn't have to go to the NICU. The cord was around his neck and was very blue though and took a long time to cry but that was the only issue at birth. He dropped to 5lbs 10oz after 4 days and was jaundice, so we had 2 trips to the Dr. a day after we came home from the hosp. He is now a week from 10 months and is 19.5lbs 28in long and developing as he should. He seems to get alot of colds and even had broncitis and a sinus infection. I don't know if that means he had a low immune system or just bad luck. He didnt go into daycare until he was 6 months so I wonder if that was it because thats when he got sick. I'm glad all the other babies are doing well too....its a scary thing.

Hi, my name is Dulcie. My daughter- Natalie was born 9 weeks premature. She weighed in at 3lbs 3oz. She was in the NICU for 5 weeks before coming home with us. She is now a healthy 2 year old that enjoys picking on her little brother. Which now may I add-- My son- Blake was born 13 weeks premature weighing in at only 2lbs 6 oz. And blake was in the NICU for almost the entire 13 weeks due to issues with reflux. But he is now a healthy 1 year old that definatly weighs more than his big sister!

My name is crystal. And my son Jesse was born at 26 weeks and weigh 2 pds 5 oz. And was 12 inches long. He real age was 25 weeks and 4 days. His abgar score how they rate the babies was a 0. It was our first baby every and we already went threw so much in the pregnacy. Mine was the doctor messed up on me. I didn't get the rogam shot. Becuase ou blood types were 2 different. Mine was o postives and my son's was b negative. So my body was fighting my son off like it was a foregin object. And now he is a beautiful 3 years and 4 month old. He has spastic cerberal palsay he can't walk but we are in therapy for physicall therapy and occutionpal therapy and speech therapy the doctors say that he'll will walk when he is ready. We spent 80 days in the nicu level 3. I loved my son to death. He is a blessing to be alive and he has beatin all medical odds for a premiee that sizes and he lucky to not have all the problems the doctors say he should have. We coun't our blessing everyday. It is a struggle but we have one life to live. So we live it to the fullest everyday becuase you don't know what tommorrow is going to bring.

Hi my Name is Beth. I have a 5 month old named Elijah. He was born 10 weeks early and had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks. He was 2 pounds 10.5 Ounces and 15 inches long when he was born and now he is over 9 pounds. I was leaking fluid and went to the DR to get it checked out and ended up staying in the hospital for 10 days before Elijah decided he could wait no longer. He is doing great but I have a hard time knowing what things he she should be accomplishing at each month since some things he does at his actual age and some at his corrected age and some in-between.

Hi, my twin boys were born at 31 weeks due to Nathan's water breaking. Nathan weighed 3lb 8oz and James weighed 3 lb. 11oz. They were in the NICU for 3 weeks and went home at only 4 lb (too soon in my book). God really watched out for them though and they did great. They started breathing on their own after the first day. It was really difficult to have those extra two months and they didn't sleep through the night until 4 months. Nathan has some left hand/leg slowness that therapy has helped him with. Whoever is going through it, just one hour at a time and lots of prayer. At 14 months they are great and tons of fun. God Bless.

Hi there,

My name is Marcia. My son just turned 2, but he was born 6 weeks early therefore 34 weeks gestation. He spent a week in the NICU as he couldn't suck or feed properly. I remember feeling so scared in the early days, and even now I still feel traumatized. Nothing can prepare you for seeing your little one hooked up to all those wires. We had a lot of trouble breast feeding. It was a challenge but eventually my little guy was able to latch. Hunter was born at 5lbs 5 ozs. And he was 19 inches long. No one gave me any reason as to why he came early, but I have scoliosis and I believe that may have been the reason. For anyone going thru this right now, hang tough and stay strong! Hunter is such a complete joy! Its amazing to see that little baby grow to be a little person!!

Hi! My name is Christine. My son Nolan was born at 32 weeks which was very scary for us. He weighed 4lbs 4oz and spent 60 days in the NICU because of apnea (due to his prematurity). It was really hard in the beginning because we couldn't have him home with us. He is 26 months now and doing great! He is an amazing, bright little boy. We are so lucky that he is as strong and healthy as he is. You would never know that he was premature.

My name is Michele. my daughter alivia was born at 34 weeks due to my water breaking. She was 4lbs 15oz and 17 inches (although at her 2 week check she was 19 1/2 and at wic she was 19 1/2 so i think the hospital mismeasured). She had to stay in the nicu for 13 days. And she is doing wonderfully now at 8 weeks old.at her one month check she weighed 6lbs. she goes for her 2 month check and shots on wednesday.
