Every baby is different and every mommy is different at all gestational ages babies can weight a lot different! Depends on mommy and babies health! My 42 weeker was 8.14 vet big for full term if you ask me, my 36 weeker was 8.4 I has gestational diabetes well known for causing big babies, my 32 weeker twins, twin A 2lbs twin B 5.3 lbs twin to twin transfusion making one very large and other small and very sick she passed away! My 28 weeker 2.15lbs yet again gestational diabetes , and my 24 weeker 1.5 lbs!
Every one is different you can not compare, and yes a 36 weeker is considered a late term preemie! 37 weeks is full term!
I have had many people judge me you know what is right with your child and nobody else does! Just tell them thank you for your opinion but I know what is right!

Because of iugr and my preeclampsia, my son was born at 37wks, but nicu dated him at 34wks. He was 3 lbs; 14oz at birth. Thankfully the only problems he had was inability to suck well for breastfeeding; unable to regulate his body temperature and little jaundiced. He did very well in nicu and now is a very healthy and curious toddler. :) My little miracle baby.

My son was 35 weeks when born and weighed 4 lb.s 8 oz. and 16 inches long, but now that he's older he's doing good with his growth no one believes me that he was a preemie.

Oh yes! My baby girl was born on the first of Jan. 35 weeks one day.
As every mother I worry about everything when it concerns her, she was born 6lbs 2oz and sleeps most of the time. Seems constipated and her movements are very spontaneous.

I had a 36 weeker that weighed 6lbs14 oz and 20 3/4 in long, so I am sure she would had been almost 9lbs if gone full term. My 2nd daughter was born at 37 weeks and she weighed only 6lbs7oz and 20 in long. Funny thing with her is she always weighed big via ultrasounds but came out so small. She maybe would have been 8lbs if gone to 40 weeks. My friends baby was born at 35 weeks exactly and was 6'9. Not sure on length but a big baby for a premie.

My daughter was born at 35 weeks due to a placental abruption. She was 5 lbs 5 oz, and quickly dropped down to 5lbs even.

On a more positive note, she had no real complications, and is now a healthy 3 (almost 4 year old) extremely active girl. Being born at 35 weeks did not have any major affect on her life. She was a normal healthy baby, and developed pretty much on the dot with the baby charts.

My Ellie was born 34 weeks and 5lbs 6oz. To those nay sayers that say your child wasn't a preemie they can go fly a kite. They weren't there when you were worried if your baby's lungs were developed enough or if there were going to be any other complications. The good thing is that your baby WAS born at a substantial weight and is probably thriving better because of it. Congrats!

my son was born 34 wks and weighed 6lbs. he never filled out and got chubby like a full term baby we knew he was a preemie with out using the due dates because he had the white fuzzy hair that full term babies lose before birth. my due date was even moved up before he was born. had it not been moved up he would have been almost 2 half months early

My daughter was born at 35 weeks. A few ignorant people told me I was wrong - but I am going with my paed and the entire ICU staff (my daughter was there for 2 weeks)and gynae who said otherwise. Never mind the fact she did not fit into the newborn clothes we bought. She weighed 4.1 kg and was 60cm long. I was traumatised by my pregnancy complications and my daughters stay in hospital afterwards and I felt very hurt that some of my "friends" did not recognise the hurt they caused at a time when I just needed either support or tactful silence!

My daughter was 34 weeks, 4 pounds 14 ounces and my son was 36 weeks, 6 pounds 5 ounces so lots of people are convinced my dates with him were wrong because he was 'normal' size...never mind that his ears weren't developed and he hadn't filled out yet like a chubby full-term baby

My twins were born at 24 1/2 weeks, they were 1 lb 8.3 an d1 lb 11.. Now they are 9 and mostly healthy. There are a ton of special needs, but they are basically two boys with the brains of 6 year old children.

Yes. My son was born at 37wks, weighing 3 lbs; 14oz, but due to placental infarction, nicu dated him at 34wks. He is now 10months and very healthy, thank God. I had preeclampsia and complications, so my son really is a miracle baby. :)

My daughter was a 34 weeker and weighed 6lbs 4 oz. She was 19.3"long. I knew my dates weren't wrong as my first ultrasound was at 5wks due to bleeding. They could see her, but her heartbeat was so faint the tech couldnt pick it up. At 6wks they could pick up the heartbeat. At 10wks, they couldnt hear the heartrate, so another ultrasound, she was still too small for it to be heard, but she definitely had it. I cant stand it when people do that. It drives me nuts!

NICHOLE!! Im with you on that one my b*&^% a$$ sister in law goes around telling everyone in the family that our baby can no way be my husbands because she was born at 35 weeks but to her weighed like a full term baby. She's retarded i swear she thinks she knows what was going on with my vagina and when we were haaving sex. She thinks she knows all the dates and everything! haha. She thinks that because she had her baby full term and her baby was 6 lbs that my baby can in no way be a premie because she weighed 6lbs too. Yea im like really?? i didnt know you went to medical school? Did u go after u dropped out of HS?? haha yea they are big time drama. . .

My little bubba was born at 35 weeks weighing 6lb 2oz! :) Oh my goshh I had lots of people say that my baby was NOT prem coz he was far to big! And that he would have been like 10lb if he had gone full term! Rude huh... My midewife told me that 6lb/ish at 35 weeks is perfectly normal and that my bub would have been around 8lb full term :) My baby spent 12 days in the SCBU and while he was in there I saw lots of babies come in born 5 weeks early all weighing around the same size! One even came in weighing 7lb 10oz born at 35 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
