So we just found out that my little one has 2 cavities that are going to be getting filled next week. I am freaking out about this! We've done cleanings, and she's done suprisingly well with them, but drill noises, numbing shots, the tingly feeling, lights! AHHHHH. A trip to the dentist is enough to make ME go on sensory overload! Does anyone have any tips on how I can make this go a little smoother? We bring her own sunglasses from home for the big light, but other than that, Im clueless.

Sunglasses, headphones, Tv if the dentist has it... and you must remain calm. Sometimes it helps to stay out of the room. Discuss all concerns with dentist before your visit. If they are not receptive, you might try a pediatric dentist. Amazingly, many kids do not necessarily need to be numb unless the cavities are very deep. Most important is you have to be calm. I was a dental assistant for over15 years, I hope this helps!
