My 13 year old son still wets the bed at night. He hasn't hit puberty yet. I've been to Dr's they all say he will grow out of it. I feel so bad for my son. We limit sleepovers almost completely. He had a school trip 3 days overnight. We had to have a system for him to hide the evidence as I sat home praying that he would be ok and not embarrassed. He did ok but I was a nervous wreck. He's 13!!! This is crazy. I don't think Meds are the answer. I just wonder if anyone else feels my pain for my poor boy.

Being a dad I know this will happen with young kids. I have 3 boys myself and a wife who is not too healthy. Limit his drinks at a certain time of the night. Lets say no drinks after 7 PM but work on what is the best time to do this. Normally he should get up even during the night to go to the bathroom. Make sure he is not too exhausted before he falls asleep. Try to work out when he is letting go, maybe early evening, late evening, during deep sleep etc. Try a clock radio at a certain time to waken him to go to the bathroom. There are also pubic exercises that can be done to strengthen the muscles down there, the same ones that adult males use to improve their performance. It could also be emotional impact like bullying or other forms of emotional pressure on him, try to find out using peers or friends or siblings to know what is happening in his life. Watch him while he sleeps to get some idea and limit horror movies etc. before bedtime. Just some ideas that could help. Boys will go through this a few times before they readjust and rectify.
