My name is Robin ,and my son {Joshua} has been attending elementary since April 2008 and he has been bullied along with other children on the bus, lunchtime and recess. This has continued since 4/2008 to present,on a daily basis and now he has a horrible report card because he can not deal with this abuse anymore. Last year.. I thought this problem was resolved due to I wrote Ms................., Superintendent of Education and she had a camera installed on my son school bus and that worked for the bus but not at lunchtime, recess. Also this year: On the 2nd or 3rd day of school Joshua told me the "new" principal Ms.......,calls all the white child { come here my "white" boys} and showed the class a movie about slavery while telling the children watched the movie... [first] we were called,[colored],then we were called [nergo],then we were called [black],and now were called [african american]. .{ that's outrageous}.

My next issue is: Joshua's school bus had an accident with an 18 wheeler. This happen 11/3/2009 in the morning route going to elementary school,my son heard a big boom sound in the back of the bus and the 18 wheeler truck were together and 2 police car came, and about 1 1/2 hrs. later all the children were put into the other bus a taken to school. The principal Ms........ said to children: "Oh you were in a wreck this morning" and "you can all go breakfast".

~{ That's just so pathetic }~

The school and the bus company did not inform any of the parent's and no children were taken to the hospital at the scene. We called the school and the office lady said: { it was not our responsibility} to inform anyone it's the bus company responsibility. We took Joshua to the hospital [right away] and 2 1/2 hrs later his { Discharge Diagnosis } is neck strain and contusion on rt.wrist.

I'm requesting that Joshua be transferred to another school due to these situations of abuse on daily basis and this accident that the school staff neglected to call the parents and the children were not taken to the hospital at the scene. Also I do not trust this school staff with Joshua's guardianship.Thank you for your time ~

take care,Robin

Ms.Moore,

1. In response to the allegations of your son, Joshua , being

bullied on the bus, at lunchtime, and recess:

I have spoken with the principal and director of transportation and they have no knowledge of any report or reports of Joshua being bullied this school year. The principal says she has not spoken to Joshua or you concerning these allegations. I would encourage you to meet with the principal to work out any perceived or real problems that exist. I will be happy to schedule a meeting with you, the principal, or anyone else that is needed if you deem necessary.

2. I also investigated the situation where you made mention Mrs. ......referred the Caucasian students as white boys. Mrs. Harper denies

referring to Caucasian males as "white boys". She did, however, share with me that she taught a lesson on terminology for referring to African Americans from the Civil War to present due to a Caucasian student calling Ms. Bishop, an African American teacher, a derogatory race term. By testimony of Mrs. ......., white teacher at ******** ......., she states that Mrs. ....... put forth much effort to make sure the students appreciated the changes that had taken place over the years and for them to be reflected in how we refer to African-Americans today. She also states she has never heard Ms. ....... refer to any student at any time in a degrading or derogatory manner.

3. In reference to the accident that occurred on 11/3/09, as stated in my previous email to you our standard protocol is to have students checked by medical personnel and the medical personnel decide if the students should be sent to the hospital.

The Bus Supervisor, the State Bus Supervisor, and EMS were at

the scene of the accident. All of the children were checked by EMS,

released and loaded on to another bus. Mrs. ...... states she noticed late students coming in but informed them they were still in time to eat breakfast before school started and to go ahead and eat. She then called the school office to find out why they were late and proceeded on with the day to day activities.

4. As to the bus company not informing the parents of the accident, normal protocol is for the bus supervisors to notify the principals of the

schools of the students who are on the bus and then the students' parents are notified. We apologize that you were not notified in a timely manner.

5. In regards to Joshua being taken to the hospital for neck strain and contusion on rt. wrist, the school was not aware of Joshua being in pain or hurt. EMS checked him out at the scene of the accident and saw no need for medical treatment. Mrs. ....... states that Joshua did not complain to her or to anyone in her class about not feeling well or being in any type of pain. Mrs. ...... states that no student complained about anything hurting in her classroom.

6. You have requested that Joshua be transferred to another school due to the above situations of abuse on a daily basis, the school staff not notifying you of the accident, and that you do not trust the school staff with Joshua's guardianship. We are sorry that you have these feelings of not being able to trust the school staff. Mrs. ...... states that had she been aware of Joshua problems, she would have been glad to work with you and Joshua. We have a caring school staff that works hard to make sure the students at ....... school have the best education possible and that all students are safe. They strive for excellence in teaching and learning for all students.

Joshua has been absent the past 4 days from school. I hope that he is not sick and will be back at school soon. He has missed 9 unexcused absences this year. We are concerned that he is falling behind and you have not called the school or come by the school to pick up his academic assignments. Please notify the school at your earliest convenience as to these attendance concerns.

If you have further questions or concerns, you may reach me at ***-2268.

Mr.Asst Superintendent,

My son's grades went from A+B's to D+F's and many other issues.

Since 11/09 he has been in home school doing well, but lacking social

skills. In your last letter you inform me if I needed any help I should call you, I

called you twice and left massage and still no reply, so I decided to

write you. I'm requesting that even though my son is not zoned for ********

elementary could you will help me register him to start in January. Please write

back, Take care,Robin L.Moore

Ms.Robin

I am in receipt of your 12-10-2009 e-mail requesting permission for your son to attend ********* Elementary School. I returned your call but apparently you were out of place. As I shared with you some time back we were not able to substantiate that there was any bullying at school or on the bus. If you wish to have your son considered for re-entry in ********** County School District, I will be happy to schedule a readmission hearing with you and the principal, Mrs. *** ****** So far as the request to go to ********* Elementary School, I am denying this request. Students attend school in the school zones designated by the parent/custodial guardian residence. Please know that you may apply for Expanded Choice Program, the Magnet Program, and/or Title One Program for 2010-2011 school year. You have the right to appeal my decision in regards to your zoning transfer request to Mrs.***** *****, Superintendent. I look to hear from you as to your desire to be readmitted in the district.

I have a daugter with special medical needs and had to hire an attorney to get ANY accommodations for her! Talk about a school district that sucks!

My middle daughter had a stalker for 4 months..we documented and took pics and recorded stuff. When thi kid FFINALLY sent her a paper letter, we turned it in to the school (we had been complaining the entire 4 months and hey did NOTHING!). The school THEN sent a discipline letter home with my daughter and threatened suspension on HER for ignoring the jerk......I had to get the police involved to make this nightmare go away.....

You do have choices. You could spend a lot of time down at the school yourself, you could homeschool, or you could get an attorney to handle this for you. You may be further ahead to join a homeschool coop or group and just not mess with the school administrators who don't seem to be taking your concerns very seriously. The group or coop could solve the socialization concerns you have. Also involving your child in civic or club sports programs can help with that also. Good luck.

call an attorney. My daughter was being bullied and that was the only way to stop it. Cost me 75 $ and 1 letter threatening litigation. They are responsible. Period.

There was so much to read, let me see if I got it all:

1. You son is being bullied and there is no proof of it. No surprise there, bullies are smart and make sure no one knows what's going on. Unfortunately, without proof, the school can't do anything. I didn't like it when my child was being bullied but I understand; schools cannot take the word of one child over another. Frankly, it just sucks....

2. Your child was in a bus accident and was checked by EMT's and was found not to have any injuries that required a trip to the hospital. Later his neck was sore and he had a bruise on his wrist. Sometimes these things don't show up for a few hours so this makes sense.

3. The school district didn't notify you of the accident. I think I would start driving my child to school myself. Your principal totally dropped the ball on this and he/she owes you an apology and assurance that nothing like this will every happen again. But then, if you drive your child to school yourself this won't be an issue.

4. They won't transfer your child to another school. Can you petition the other school to accept your child? The string of e-mails you sent to us will be forwarded to the new school so they may not take your child. Unfortunately, taxes determine how this works. Since you are not paying taxes in that area, the school will not be given money to educate your child - they will be doing free. If the classrooms at the other school are already full, they can't accept your child. Small classroom size may be exactly why they are a Blue Ribbon School and adding extra children will undermine that.

4. If the principal is calling kids "white boys" that is unacceptable but showing the kids a video about the names that African Americans were called is totally appropriate. I see nothing wrong with a lesson in history about the struggles of Black Americans.

My suggestion is that you try to patch things up with the school. It's obvious from your e-mails that you have no respect for them and they are not answering your questions to your satisfaction. Start volunteering at the school. Spend time with your child in his classroom (unless he's in high school since this is the moms of teenagers board). You son may be stuck in that school for the rest of his school career. It's not fair and it's not right but you have to patch things up at school and things can get better for him there. I'm afraid that they have totally lost your trust and no matter what they do, you will never be satisfied with it. Do you best to make sure you child is not aware of any of the problems you are having and that he feels safe at school. He will not be successful as long as he knows you don't like his teacher or his school and that you are trying to have him moved.
