I know what it's like to be faced with this type of problem. I have a sixteen year old son, and a fourteen year old daughter. When my daughter turned thirteen she had a masked ball themed party. It was sophisticated yet a lot of fun at the same time. Everyone wore evening dresses and masks. We played a great range of the latest music and everyone enjoyed dancing. It gave the girls an opportunity to dress up and dance. My daughter was really happy with the result of her birthday party. For her fourteenth this year, she is having a friend sleepover. A much lower-key party but just as enjoyable. If you are still lost for party ideas and the cost is too much, you can always turn to a reliable sleepover with a true friend. Best of luck!

For my 13th birthday, I went to my 2nd house in Santa Cruz, California. I took 4 friends, and we drove on a friday, got there around 6, went to dinner and then went back to my place for Karaoke, cake, and presents. The next day, we went to the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk, (witch is a theme park) and had a load of fun. All my friends brought about $20 with them so it didn't cost my mom and dad a lot. Another fun idea is to clear out a basement or garage, and have a black light karaoke party. Everyone brings glow sticks and draws on themselves with highlighters, it's a blast, and barley costs anything. Hope this helped!!!

Ok so i am turning 13 and mom thought i had a good idea so she let me post it.. ok so here is how it goes. If you are at a wedding party for the bride you might make a wedding dress out of toilet paper well for a birthday party you can do the same thing only each of you make each other a "party dress" out of either wrapping paper or tissue paper. Then take pictures! it will be awesome!

I have a daughter who recently turned 14. For her party she had a scavenger hunt with her friends around town! It was a blast! Basically, when the guests arrived we split them into 3 teams with 4 kids on each team. The girls started the party in the park decorating team shirts with fabric markers, sharpies, and other decorating supplies. Then, I gave them each a pre-typed scavenger hunt list. They had one hour to complete as much as they could off the list and meet me back at an ice cream parlor nearby. Each team had a camera (most had phones or ipods with cameras) and a video camera to record all the tasks they completed. Some of the things on the list included... hug an employee at a store, do the hokey pokey in public, sing Christmas carols outside a Christmas store (it was april), and other silly tasks that involved them to interact with the community. They had a blast! When we got to the icecream place we proceeded with icecream and presents. As we ate we watched the videos and pictures. The winning team members received a small gift bag which I stuffed with nail polish, lip balm, and candy. My only tip for this would be to make sure you have a safe area. We had a walking outdoor mall so they didn't have to cross any streets! Set limits on where they can go or have a chaperone with them! Hope this helped!

I have a teen who is turning 13 and I thought about spa party. One does not have to go over a budget if doing it at home and if planned in advance.

A Hannah Montana or Justin Bieber party would be a great choice for her. You can also consider having a luau party. For more ideas, you can visit this link. Hope this helps you. http://www.mybirthdaysupplies.com/party-...

I'm turning 15 in two months... and I need some fun party ideas. I'm totally stuck on what to do, there's only going to be like 10 people there. But for the last few years, I've been doing like and spa type thing at my house and then a sleepover. Last year I went to a hotel, we had a blast but my mom said I need something a little less expensive this year. So I would like to do something fun. Should I go somewhere, or should I have the party at my house? What kind of things should I have planned. I want to watch some movies but I don't want my guests to get bored. I want it to be a day people will remember. If you guys have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out! If I just end up having a sleepover, what kind of things should I have planned. Should I have games? Should I give away little gift bags? I don't know!!

I just wrote my ideas here in circleofmoms:
My oldest daughter is 13, for her Birthday we had pirate party with eye patches and torn shirts. And it was not very expensive. You can find some ideas for themed parties on internet, for example here: http://scarlettentertainment.com/news-bl...

well it depends how many are attending the birthday celebration. if its a big group of people like 20- 30 people attending then hire a big hall for the party with a dj, buffet, dancing and stuff like that and also a candy buffet is a great idea for the party! if its just 10-15 people attending then go bowling or cinema or whatever. If its just 5-8 people then have a little party in the house or a sleepover is great as well!

Okay, I'm about to turn 13 so this is my party plan:
I'm going to have a Hawaiian themed birthday party. (With the little flower necklaces and the funky glasses, and pink lemonade!)
We're going to come in and just get everyone comfortable and happy first, then watch a movie (I don't know what yet.)
Then we're going to eat party snacks.(:
Then we're going to do a bit of going crazy and dancing to One Direction.
And then maybe open presants and have a Hawaiian Disco. (Turning off all the lights and getting little fairy lights, and turning the music up!) :D

She's also having a sleepover in a luxury hotel with a spa and pool and everything. Me and my husband said we'd stop the parties at 7 but she is turning 13 so were letting her off! Coconut milk all around

My nieces are 14, 15 and 16 so we have thrown some really cool girl parties. For the sleepover movie party. The girls were given fuzzy slippers when they arrived. We had a pajama fashion show. We printed up tons of movie trivia questions, played a movie version of pictionary, and a movie themed version of charades, put up famous quotes and had the girls guess the movie etc... (just google the names of actors and movies she likes and cool facts pop up). Line the living room with sleeping bags or blankets. Prizes were "oscar" trophies bought at party city (6 per pack). Loot bags were popcorn themed bags filled with unpopped microwave popcorn a big candy bar and a box of gummy candy (just like at the movies. Another party was an "American Idol" party. The girls were told to memorize their favorite song and we downloaded these ahead of time. On party day, we bought lots of blush and gloss, brushes gels and spray, and nail polish. The girls got all dolled up and performed their chosen song while three of us acted as Simon, Randy and Paula in full character. We video taped the whole thing, it was hilarious.CD's with their chosen songs were given as a favor. The girls favorite party was an "80's prom" theme party where everyone including parents came dressed up. We had games like pin the glove on Michael Jackson (we made glitter covered hand prints earlier in the week and used a poster of MJ. We had a break dancing competition (complete with cardboard taped to the concrete, 80's movie and music trivia (kids really wanted to be paired with their parents for those) and ballots passed for a vote for prom king and queen...it was 3 years ago and we are still asked about it. Have fun planning : D

For the 13th birthday we did a mall scavenger hunt. It was a blast, the kids had to find or do things on the list and get pictures doing them. Then I bought them lunch and had the photos all printed up for each of them, and put them into photo books for them to keep as a memento.

When my neice turned 13 we went to the fabric store and went crazy. We let all the girls make an outfit out of the fabric and my sister and I set up a salon and helped the girls do their hair and make-up. Afterwards we hung a black sheet on the wall and took pictures of the girls. With the left over fabric we made flip flops. The girls still wear them today! But the best part was, we gave each girl a party gift of a picture of them all made up in a frame. My neice still has the picture in her room and she is 17.

My daughter had a costume party and it was a blast to all her friends. Of course she was the Princess and wore a second hand wedding dress. (she turned Sweet 16) They all came dressed in their favorite costumes. They did Karokee and a costume contest.

My daughter was alittle younger when we rented a large hotel room and had a sleepover there. SInce I don't have a pool, they were in the pool till late. In the room we had pizza and cake. I brought all kinds of girly stuff, rollers, make up, junk food. They hotel had breakfast. The best part was I didn't have to clean up!! I left a nice tip. There wasn't a huge mess but not having to wash a bunch of sheets and towels was great!!!
