Has anyone had endometrial ablation? Can you tell me anything about it, that is not on the web? Long term side effects or recovery? Thanks in advance!

Thank you ladies for the info. I posted the question after things I had read online, but not on any sort of medical site. I started to panic, since I had the procedure scheduled. Went through with it last week and feel great. My mood, energy, everything feels better. I am happy you guys gave me the reassurance I needed. Hope you each have a great weekend!

Make sure that you don't get pregnant after this procedure - your baby will die so you might too. Since I don't believe in birth control I didn't have this done.

i had the procedure..It was called Novasure..It was a life saver from heavy heavy perods..Actual procedure was only 30mins stayed in recovery room about an hour..An off to home I went..Stayed off of work for about a week..It really helped no more heavy cramping an periods only last 4days instead of the 6days b4...I recommend it, but You gotta make sure yr done having children, because u wont be able to hold a baby inside..But u still can get pregnant...

I have had a procedure called Novasure, I believe it is called endometrial ablation? The doctor did the procedure under anesthesia in his office - basically they sautered the lining of my uterus. It was the best thing I ever did. I was having very heavy periods, and real bad mood swings - it took about 3 days recovery, it didnt hurt, but the dr wanted me to take it easy. I have not had a period since, my moods swings are better ( but im still moody). I havent had any bad adverse effects. But if you dont want any more children, this is the best thing you can do. No hormones either!
