Game night?

Playing games with the family is full of great memories for me. My crew loves Apples to Apples and this cooperative game is really fun for a family. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D7F...
It is actually kind of hard to beat the game...but when you almost win....it makes everyone want to play again. Games take about half an hour...so its just right!

We actually have game and movie nights. Game night is extremely fun if you have a wii system which we do. If not, we have also purchased games that can be played on your Tv, like wheel of fortune and deal or no deal my children loved playing scene it. Now for movie night we actually would rent the latest disney or animated film and sit back and eat popcorn. I have a 15, 2 nine yr olds, 8, 6 and 5 and they all love our family nights

We do family game night once a week. My kids are 11. 14 and 22. I found an awesome game at toysrus.com. It is the "ungame". It is GREAT for families!

We play the latest electronic games and dvd trivia games as well. We also have movie night each week a different child picks the movie to keep variety. You can also have a make your favorite dessert night and everyone tries out the others creation and guest what it is.

We have a 15 y.o. who enjoys Triominoes - the more the merrier but we don't score just play 'til last one out :) Beetle believe it or not would work pretty good.

My kids are 3 and 16... But we do a family game night... Usually consist of Scrabble or Rumikub and a matching game. We let the little one participate by laying down tiles near his side of the board so he gets a turn... In the fall and winter months we roast marshmallows outside first and just make a big deal out of spending time together with no tv or distractions. We always take silly pictures and laugh a lot. I hope that my kids will cherish these memories we are making.

We used to take turns choosing from a selection of games that are age appropriate for everyone in the family. Obviously, the younger kids will lose interest in whatever activity is chosen much sooner than the older ones. So one way to keep the time together fun is to allow the kids to engage in another activity so that they don't spend that time feeling mad that they would rather be doing something else. Does that make sense. There are tons of fun board games, trivia games for all ages, card games. Even video games. The point is to have fun. Ooooh, I have an idea. What if you picked your games out of a hat of preselected games. I bet it would be fun to have a drawing to decide what game to play. Maybe you could make a game jar with the names of different games written on paper. Then let the kids take turns closing their eyes & picking a game out of the jar.

Well.. I have a 16, 15 and 8 year old.. we do family game night but we play all the games we have an make it into a tournament.. we play Uno, Rummy, Bingo, Twister, Wii games like bowling, tennis, golf, and baseball, foosball, and whatever else the boys come up with.. we put a scoreboard together and give points for 1st through 5th place.. then I buy gifts for each of the levels to give out for the different places. The boys love it.. we don't do it all the time but we have done it for New Years last year and it was great.. cuz we made lots of snack food too!!

We do Monopoly and bought a card game book. We choose a new card game when we feel we need a change. My oldest is 15 the second one is14 and the youngest is 11 . It is hard to keep all the kids interested in game nights, that's way the card game book has helped alot form my family.

WE also have the "no phones" policy during dinner as well as a "no tv" policy!! The "no phones & no tv" also stands for game night unless of course we're playing Scene It ... then we can use the TV!! LOL We also do a family movie night once a week. Just introduced our 8 yr old to Space Jam ... he LOVED it!!! Gives the older ones a chance to see movies they remember & loved while introducing our "oopsie surprise" to some he's never seen!! LOL

" Beat the parents" my oldest gets stuck on my side because i am a single parent but we still do game night. And they r never too old for family time. We have a no phone rule during dinner so we can still bond without interuptions.

We like Domino's, Uno, Monopoly, Boggle and card games like Crazy 8's or Hand & Foot. Mine are now 17 & 14. They still play with us! We also do Wii bowling sometimes.

We have two kids 12 and 14 and we LOOOOVE the munchkin games. They have different ones, and they are a ton of fun. For the younger kids I would suggest the cranium games, they also are a ton of fun and involve alot of movement.

My family plays monopoly, connect 4 or connect 4X4, domino or just a simply game of cards. But instead of game night I switch it up to movie night. Normally on Fridays my family gets together in front of TV and we watch movies ALL night , I will make popcorn, and other snacks and just relax with my boys and husband. My boys are 17 and 14 and they love family game\movie night.

Outburst is one of the most fun and interactive games! We love that one, as well as Balderdash (for the older kids) and Trouble (for the younger ones.) They have an outburst Jr. for younger kids as well.

since it's just my son and myself, as my parents usually don't like to get involved due that it's video games my son and i do. i just got him involved back with pokemon, with the rerelease of gold and silver. i bought silver intending on playing it myself, but instead he grabbed it and once again got hooked on playing it. i've been back on the original gold as i never was able to get that done and bought used games which always quit and or broke when i was playing them. am lucky we have contests against each other to see how long it takes us to get through a certain area, usually he wins as he's the whiz at it, but then i manage to come in when we do something like kirby airride on the old game cube which we have a few games for and the games still sell for a good price as people like us are loving playing them from time to time. otherwise we do play monopoly or sorry if we do games and or uno an old stand by favorite! that's where i shine!

My family like to play Cranium which is a mixture of skills like drawing, mime, general knowledge and playdough modeling. It is suitable for all and makes us roar with laughter. We tend to get this out when we have people round for dinner who have kids as it can be played in groups or families.

Uno and Sorry. We also recently got Sorry Sliders. Our big kids (14 and 11) enjoy it, but you will have to help the little ones score the points.
