grandparents as parents

Are there any grandparents out there raising their grandchildren? We have 4 grandsons from
17 to 10, 1 has lived with us since he was 16 months old, the other 3 have been with us for a little over 5 years. We love them dearly and cannot imagine life any other way. But the 2 teenagers are beginning to behave like teenagers! They think we are lame and too old to understand. When we give them limits they tell us that things are different now than when we were teenagers! I tell them they are right, it is a lot more dangerous to be a teenager now!

Every generation thinks the next one is more dangerous.....I recommend you relax and trust that they do have a decent handle on how to live in their day, even though it IS scary for us, it is NORMAL for them! They will be ok! :)

GOOD FOR YOU!!!
You have your hands full and you are great to bring up your grandchildren. I'm sorry, I'm not a grandparent yet, but I was half-raised by my grandparents, as long as you keep letting them know the boundaries and how much you love them everything should be ok.
