a friend of mine has a daughter that just started 8th grade and is having MAJOR anxiety issues becuase she has no friends at school. Suggestions on how to help her to help her daughter make friends?

I have a young son (age 9) who has trouble making friends. I think he felt even worse seeing his older brother (age 13) make friends easily. I would suggest a sport or club (e.g. girls scouts) My son started football and I have noticed that it has been much easier to make friends. Now he looks forward to every football season, so that he can hang out with his friends!
