One of my sons had a urethra issue that we did not know earlier, and it made the complete process a multiple times a day issue, and also that he produced so much semen the emptying of it was not fulfilled in one or two sessions. After seeing the Dr and having the issue somewhat resolved, he still masturbates quite a bit , but not because of a problem, but because he enjoys the process.

As the mother of a 13 year old boy, I do consider that much masturbation excessive. I believe it may deaden your son's healthy interest in other activities, including meeting and socializing with girls. I had the same problem with my son. It seemed that whenever I walked into his room he was busy at it. He always tried to hide it as quickly as he could but it was obvious what he was doing. I cautioned him he was doing it too often, but he continued anyhow. Finally, one day when I discovered him once again masturbating (and I was in an angry mood from work, which I admit didn't enhance my judgment!), I Made him pull back his blanket, look at his magazine and finish the act while I leaned against the door and watched. He was totally humiliated. It may not be the best way to handle the matter, but it does seem to have worked!

Boys Masturbate, Men Masturbate even when they are married.. It is normal for a teen boy to masturbate alot... as long as he is doing it in private and meeting his other obligations, school. etc.. he is fine..



When I was 15 I use to masturbate about 3 to 4 times a day and even now as a married man, I enjoy masturbating and having solo time.

My opinion is that you asking your son about masturbation is creepy. I didn't have to ask mine, the evidence was pretty obvious. That's all I'm saying. My apologies if you don't like my opinion, but, after all, this is an internet forum. You're bound to read something you don't like along the way.

Take it with a grain of salt, is what I do, and move on. ;-)

Besides that, if you are concerned that it could cause issues, consult a urologist. The affected area is the urethra, and the more constant constriction could cause problems in extreme cases, as I said in my earlier post as well.

A few things, normally the female sex drive is nothing like a male"s. So don't concern yourself. Boys are one huge sex hormone, they eat, sleep and breathe sex. Its in the DNA. I have three sons. Two are eighteen and one is 15. I even helped raised my nephew for a bit who is n ow 29. Four or five times a day is alot, but, I would rather them play with themselves then someone's daughter. As long as he doesn't injure himself, which is unlikely, you can be assured of two things, one he wont be getting anyone pregnant and two, STDs are not an issue,



Just make sure he cleans up after himself, and keeps it private.

If you're concerned, ask a urologist if the constant constriction could be something that would affect his bladder on down the line, but otherwise, it's kind of creepy that you wanted to know HOW OFTEN your son plays with himself...

When I met my (now husband) at 18, we would have sex up to 6 times a day and he would still find time to masturbate. Its completely normal, but over the past few years he only does it a few times a week if even that and we don't have nearly as much sex as we used to. I say your son is young and has a lot of hormones running through his body, as he gets older, it will slow down.

My hubby used to be like that too. I met him when he was 19 and even at that point, and with having sex regularly, he was still masturbating at least 4-6 times a day. He's mellowed a lot in the past year or so. I think it's a normal thing. The hormones and whatnot are running rampant.
Not to mention that masturbation is a stress reliever.
I don't think it's a *need* necessarily, but I wouldn't be concerned about how frequently (or not) he does it unless he starts choosing inappropriate times and places. As long as he's doing it in a healthy manner, there's nothing wrong with it at all :)
