How much pocket money should we give our 13 year old daughter? We buy her clothes and pay for expenses... currently she get $60 a month do you think we should give $100?
Also she wants the loiboutoins nail paint brand. This costs $50 but I can get it. Do you think she should be painting nails at 13?
Also do you think she should wear a bikini at 13?

Hello,

I think it's great to have kids on a system that pays them for the work they have accomplished around the house. You didn't really state if this is the case in your home but assuming it is I would say as she gets older and the chores increase then her allowance should as well, I would encourage her to save her money to purchase the things she wants simply because this is a skill that she will likely be able to use all throughout her life. Teaching our kids responsibility is important and I can honestly tell you that there are weeks that my 17 years old daughter makes a lot more than her older brother simply because he chooses not to do the work. I am attempting to teach them that if I don't go to work I don't get paid and if they don't work they don't get paid. I hope this helped you in your parenting quest :)
