My Dad's advice for raising teenagers

I just wanted to share what my Dad told me when my daughter entered her teenage years. When asked "How did you do it - raising teenagers?" His response was "well, first you get down on one knee. Then you get down on the other. And you pray".

I didn't really understand it at first - but now I realize that nothing could be more true. Yes - we talk to our teenagers about sex, drugs, peer pressure. And yes - we set our ground rules and curfews and give out punishments if needed. And yes - we give advice and support to our children. But in the end - we can only pray that they listen and remember our advice and that they make it through the teenage years just as we did back in the day. And we need to remember that they too will make mistakes - we all do. We can only hope that they learn from them and move on to become better people.

Great advice Dad!!! Prayer is our only hope. I really think the toddler years were much less stressful.
