You can give this website a try...it's an e-book for about $30. I haven't personally tried it. I really think you need to get her into counseling ASAP. Here is the website, www.myoutofcontrolteen.com

The best place to start is by contacting your local mental health agency. They are a great place to start. Do you have any other children? She is just trying to get attention, for what ever reason. Sadley, in a negative way. She may be bipolar, or depressed, or have ODD (oppositional defiance disorder). None of which would surprise me. She is almost 13...if you don't get this together NOW, it will be too late. How is your relationship with her? Is her Dad in the picture? Do you live in the city?

Does she go to counseling? Has she been diagnosed with a mental disorder? I also have a nine year old, who has been diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder and oppositional attachment disorder. Either of those can cause an uproar of behavior problems. It does not mean that you are a bad mother, by no means. If you don't do something now...she will be way beyond your control in a year or two. If you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in? I might be able to help you find some services.

Whew, that is a tough one. My daughter turned 15 in March. We went through a tough time at 13 too. What I did, is I took everything away from her. I showed her what it was like to have nothing. If she stole, or lied, or skipped school...she had consequences for everything. No T.V., no iPod, no cell phone, no going out with friends. She didn't like it at all. If you can get your daughter into counseling, do it!

Good Luck! I now have a daughter that is still mouthy - but doesn't act out.
