My daughter of 16 is driving me crazy

She has paid for her own mobile blackberry phone so always throws that back in my face. I have entered both my daughter and myself in the Race for Life Competition hoping that this helps our relationship plus I hope to start going shopping with her for clothes but because I never do find it hard to ask her. At the moment I am just recovering from the stressful event she has put me through and my daughter is getting better. At least today when I came in we didn't row as usual. Let yo know how it goes thanks for your advice.

This sounds like a cry for attention. Try and implement mother and daughter days where you go out for lunch and just chat about things going on in your lives. Make these regular events so she knows she has 100% attention from you. Ask her if she is happy with her life and ask her what would make it better.

From what you are saying she is having a hard time fitting in with her social group. What has happend there? May be she has feelings for a lad that is ignoring her! Teenagers lead complicated lives. Every thing seems 10 times worse than it is.

The attitude is normal for teenagers I am afraid so let it slide unless it is really offensive. Then remove TV, laptop and phone. It is amazing how quickly they become human again when humbeled. I have raised two children now 21 and 18 and I can say between 15 and 17 are the worst years. I now have a 3 year old and I am dreading it already.

Just remember you are not alone!

This is my opinion and I have raised many kids and girls are the hardest no doubt. She is 16 and if she always seams angry at you its because she lacks communication and is lashing out at you. the coments you made that she said you dont listen and you blame her for everything sounds like a cry for attention that for some reason in her head she doesnt feel she is getting.From her harrassing someone 22 times to be her friend sounds even more so. she is 16 and her hormones are off the charts now along with chemical imbalances in the body. she probably cries more then laughs and seems like a basket case. As far as the phone goes ....I thought you were the parent it doesnt matter what she wants or says you pay the bill you have alot of control with that little box...thats her life line lol thats your control to get ther to the doctor and a counselor and to open the disscussion about her atitude. you need to let her know without a doubt that the disrespect will stop or that there will be harsh consiquences. No phone no tv mobile or land line no friends over for 2 weeks for 1st offence and if she argues add days 3 at a time and stick to it.... remember you are the parent and you need to take back that control. There is know getting privelages back early remember this is a lesson. You try this I know it will work I use the same dicapline for all my kids age 5 to 21 and my 26 year old moved back home and I take her car if she dont pay me her rent since its in my name until its paid for...funny how she gets the money to me within 24hrs.
