Nip it in the bud! You don't deserve to be talked to like that. Let her know that it is unacceptable to talk to you that way. The hardest thing to do is keep your cool when they start back talking and yelling at you...walk away. If you are out, take her home.Sometimes teenagers act like 2 yr olds, just with bigger words. They like to show off for their friends. She will get the message loud and clear when you don't accept her attitude. If her friends are over when she starts up, send them home. She will get pretty lonely if she keeps up the attitude. Let her know that it's her behavior that decides the privileges she gets. Above all, be consistent! If you let her get away with it once, she will do it again. When my daughter gets an attitude it usually means she's tired. Teenagers have such jam packed lives these days they don't get enough sleep. They're even texting while in bed! So send her to bed and take away the cell phone. It's amazing what a good nap or nights sleep can do for a persons state of mind. I know I feel much better after a good nights sleep!

I have a son that is 14 I dont get attitude from him at all! However my 13 daughter is another story! Alot of it has to do with they are caught between being a little girl and being a young lady! With my daughter, when she cops an attitude, I simply ask her do i talk to you like that! It puts the ball in her court and makes her think about how she is treating others! I think sometimes they dont realize that they are even doing it! Hope that helps a little!
