My daughter invited several of her friends to go shopping at the mall. We bought purses on clearance and put disposable cameras, lip gloss, gum, etc. and some spending money in them. I took them to the mall and kind of hung back and let them shop. I bought them lunch and it was still cheaper than most other parties and the girls loved it!!!

My daughter is Gluten and Diary intolerant so eating out isnt really an option and she is really in to football and hockey and loves a good old game of rugby and would never go near a make up tray in her life however the majority of her firends are the opposite... What could i do?

I think a hotel party would be a nice idea for her 13th birthday party. My daughter has had about 4 and her, her friends and cousins love it. As Francesca said they want to feel a little grown up by being in a hotel but act like clownd behind closed doors. I got room right next to the girls - just in case- and we did the pampering there, pillow fights, make overs, the whole nine. My daughter is 14 now and the same young ladies that came to all of her other hotel parties have asked her if she will be doing the same for her birthday in March this year.

You cant go wrong with a good old fashion sleepover. Scary movies, junk food, and twister.

For my daughter's 13th birthday party, we rented out a local roller skating rink. She was able to invite tons of friends - boys and girls. It also gave the kids something to do without much work on my part. She was able to choose all her own music and the kids were constantly interacting with each other. It was great!

even a spit roast and some very loud music in the backyard or spare room.  Another one we did the year before was a car rally. Get a couple of parents involved and set up clues to questions and get the kids to collect certain things along the way. First car back by a certain time with the most correct answers wins. We got them to collect party supplies on the way so when they got back they could do the party with what they had chosen.  We also used mb phones to communicate between the cars every now and then. Happy birthday planning.

My daughter just had one. We had a masquerade party. We set up our rumpus room with masks streamers, disco balls etc They all showed up in really nice dresses and masks, we had a few party games such as little skits where the other kids had to work out what they were tryihg to portray,  Good old pass the parcel with make up etc in it,  Dance offs etc. There is a website which i cant remember type in teen party games. We just took food and drinks down to them and came down to judge the winner but pretty much left them to enjoy themselves. Some of the other ideas we came up with was a party bus where they stay on it and travel around the place with food and drink. They usually have music, lights etc. Stay at a hotel for then night with a parent in charge but only have one or two friends. A hawaian party, the good old movies and a sleep over etc. But i we found that they perfer not to have the parents drag around with them all night but a show now and then to make sure things werent getting out of hand was enough. Good luck.

Girls like slumber parties. A great idea for her 13th birthday party is to have movies, pizza, and plenty of snacks.  Roasting marshmellos is fun too for slumber parties.  In the back yard or at the fireplace, if you have.  Of course, unfortunately,  they'll all be up all night, so will mom!

There are a bunch of great games you can find on the internet, ones I couldn't have thought up myself. You can go to the buck store and buy "prizes" like scarfs, cute socks or hair accessories, ect. I let them pick one.The pamper is a must! We did a fondue and the girls LOVED it. We had a pinyata (sp?), that was popular. I made my daughter a cat cake, she's big into pets...lol. Just try to keep it structured for the first couple hours, then fade into the background while they settle down with movies (new releases or good girlie oldies) and junk food. Take lots of pictures, you'll be glad you did. Have fun! I hope you get some good ideas for her 13th birthday party!

We live in a rural community and we have had outdoor adventure parties. Snow shoes at night with a bonfire for our winter Birthdays and flash light tag and a swim for the summer guys. I have also had a pamper party and the girls loved it.
