Hello, my name is Rebecca, I am new to all of this and glad i found you. I too have a 9 year old daughter who was tested recently at her school and is Gifted. she did everything early, walked, talked and in complete sentences and learn how to get into the computer on paintbrush and other software by the time she was 3 years old. She has always been focal and at the same time is hyper and analyzes everything. We go through roller coasters with her with her emotions. She had a rough 2nd grade, she was label as a behavior child due to talking too much and blurting out answer or finishing ahead of everyone and would get herself in trouble. she would tell me, that she was bored or it was easy. She needed to be challenged, that was all. I would get emails from her teacher quite a bit. She is very smart and teaches herself things and does not like to wait to be taught. she taught herself excel, powerpoint. She scored high in the math and science portion of the test for GT. She does math for fun, especially during the summer. I'm hoping next year when they place her in GT classes this will help her. She wears me out sometimes because she is always on the go! I have always been told by others she was very smart and different. She has written several poems that were published, in second grade and 3rd. we have her busy in sports but she does school work or makes up her own and pretends she is the teacher at home with her other siblings. My 7 year old son, did not speak until he was 3 and had a speech problem but overcame that; is also very smart but has not been tested and has had his art work displayed; he also amazes us in the computers and is very artistic. This is a learning process for me. My 4 year old daughter is a handful as well and i am being told the same thing as my 9 year old. any suggesions.
