I was thinking about doing this with my next baby. What are your thoughts? Has anyone else done this? Do you feel it was worth it?

I looked into it for my first child and it is really expensive and you never know if you will even need it. I was hoping that there was a way to donate it for someone that needs it or for research and at the time I did not fand anything. This time around my Dr gave me a flyer for an option to dontate the cord blood and that is what I plan to do. I just hard to have it wasted if it can be used for someone.

Hi Susan. I banked our daughters blood cord with Cryo-Cell in June 08. My pediatrician said if we could afford it, do you. He said that you never know what they could do with it 3, 10 or 15 years from now. It could not only be used for her (God forbid, knock on wood) but for other family members (again, God forbid...knock on wood). I am happy we did it.
