Well, I was reading in a pregnancy magazine that your second labour is meant to be faster than your first. They say the average first labour is an average of 12-14hours and the second 6-8hours. My first was only 4hours 40mins. So if the second is faster.... I reckon I'll give birth in my father in laws car!! lol.
So, anyone experience a faster second labour??

My first labour was 7 hours which compared to my friends is sooo short but with you 3-4 hour ladies I dont feel so bad :) I'm mostly just worried about this one because with the first I didn't think I was in labour. My water didn't break, I didn't lose my mucous plug and I honestly thought I was just having braxton hicks. In fact if it weren't for my backpain I wouldn't have gone up and probably would have had my son at home...ahhh! A little joke between my hunni and I is that when I'm 36 weeks I'll be skulking around the hospital just waiting in case.

Mine were both about the same. I gave birth both times about 2 hours after arriving at the hospital.

My second labor was slightly easier though b/c my water did not break until shortly before the delivery.

i went to the hospital with contractions lasting 10 minustes straight at 2p.m. my son was born at 2:53a.m. although it was fairly quick compared to the other women i know in my area...it wasnt a very easy labor. corbin was face down with his hand on his head. when he started turning it felt like my right leg was being cut off and my epidural stopped working after that. they turned up the drip twice but it didnt touch the pain and i felt everything! luckily i only pushed for about 10 minutes before he arived! i'm hoping my second will be less painful and i wouldnt mind a shorter labor either!

Both of mine were 6 hours, so like Andria said I think it depends on the person!! Not sure what the 3rd will hold, but hoping it is faster! I think being induced changes things too. Both of mine were spontaneous. I also had both of them within 30 min after the epidural. Lots of variables to think about! Talk to your mom or dad sometimes things like this run in the family.

As long as I have an epidural, I don't care how fast/slow my 2nd one comes along! lol

My frist labor was 20 1/2 hr. long and my 2nd was 12hr. long. and my 2nd labor was way easier too. i only pushed 4 times. it was so fast my epural wasn't able to kick in fast enough. My son was out 10 minutes after i got the epidural. so i believe the 2nd labor will go by faster and will be way easier then your 1st.

I was in labor with my first daughter for 25 long hours. I was soooo excited to hear that labor is fast the second time around... Ha it wasnt for me. I was in labor for 27 hours with the second... I think it depends on the women... Hope this helped

I read that, too. My first was less than 5 hours from the time my water broke to the time my son was born. We live 45 minutes from the hospital and I'm due in the winter (we live where it snows a lot), so we'll see. . .
