How long did it take to conceive your second child?

Did it happen almost instantly or did it take forever? My fiance and I have been trying for almost a full year now for another baby with no luck... does anybody have any "tricks" to help the process along? lol

We "took our chances" while trying to concieve baby #2. He came home from a deployment and I have had 4 previous misscarriages before my daughter and it took about 8 months to concieve her so we figured it would take a while. NOPE! He was home for only 2 weeks and I was showing positive on my the pregnancy test.

We weren't really trying still not sure how it happend other then we have a lot of sex everytime a couple times of days when daughter was sleeping. Lots of sex don't think about having a baby each other as much a possiable when you can! We had lived together for 8 months before we concieved. We had been together 2 years and 2 months.

Hiya

My 1st took 2 months ( miscarried)

My 2nd took 5 months, shes now 2

I am now pregnant with my 3rd and it took a month.

We did use the ovulation calculator but it can become a little robotic at times which I dont think helps.

The 3 times I fell pregnant I think we had been out for a few drinks so maybe I was more relaxed and not obsessing about it.

Funny little tips I have heard from friends include, no oral sex as bacteria in salivia can kill off sperm, lay on your back with your legs in air or up the wall after sex and apparently dont take too much vitamin C.

Good luck, I hope it happens for you soon x x x

- my 1st was unplanned (concieved at the age of 20)

- 2nd i concieve the first month of trying but it ended in miscarriage (concieved at the age of 22)

- 3rd i concieved first month (age 23) but miscarried at 6 weeks

- 4th i concieved the same month I miscarried number 3! (age 23) hadnt even got my period yet and im now 6 weeks pregnant

tips that ive read

-sex every second day, NOT everyday cuz ur hubbys needs a day to rebuild up his sperm

-tell ur hubby to drink a cup of coffee abouta hour before sex to make sperm hyper

- take robintessin (dont think i spelled that right) cough medicine 1 hr before sex to make ur vaginal mucus the right thickness to help the sperm get to the right place

I decided I wanted another baby when my first was 11 months old. The next month, right before my daughter turned 1 I found out I was pregnant:) I get pregnant so easy! I try and remember it's a blessing:) But it can be frustrating some times! I'm now pregnant with #4 :)

stop thinking about it!! no honest and i bet u herd it a million times, but it took my just over a year to concieve my 2nd. in the end because of dodgy periods i gave up and wouldnt take any pregnancy tests. best advise i got was to onlyhave sex once a day and no more and lie down with ur pelvis propped upon a pillow. it worked for me in the end but did take me a year so i know exactly how ur feeling. this time we wasnt even really trying and it took 6 months!! typical if u ask me lol

1st- Unplanned
2nd- Unplanned (ended in miscarriage)
3rd- Second month of TTC
4th- 3rd month of TTC

After 2 unsuccessful months of trying, we purchased an ovulation predictor kit and I realized from that, that I was ovulating about 4 days sooner than "normal." It worked for us the first time and now I'm 5 weeks pregnant!

I think one trick that might have helped us, is to abstain for several days prior to your try day... then your DH will have a higher sperm count. So, wait at least one full day after you get a positive OPK and then TTC. Good luck to you!!

It took my husband and I about 3 months with our first son and now I'm pregnant again. It took us over 2 years of trying to get pregnant this time. It was very frustrating. I finally convinced myself that we wouldn't have another child and gave away all of our baby stuff and then a month later I was pregnant. It just happens that way sometimes I guess. Hang in there and try not to stress about it. It will happen when it's meant to.

With this baby we conceived literally the first try. With my son it took months. Tricks: don't focus on conceiving just focus on having fun with trying, foreplay ;) spontanaity, variety. Also don't over do it give the baby making a break for a little while and then try again. There is probably food you can eat or other such tricks but from all the moms I know who had trouble when they stopped trying is when they conceived. My one friend and her SO tried for 2 years nada then after they had the talk that they would wait and it would happen when the time was right. One night months later, a little alcohol at a party, and cuckoo cachoo they were pregnant with their little girl. Best of luck and the less you worry the easier it will happen.
